AMANDA/IceCube Activities
IceCube
Early Career Scientist Representative (2002 to present).
Coordinator
of IceCube TestDAQ. The TestDAQ is an early implementation of the experiment data
acquisition system that will run in the optical module testing facilities.
Java
developer of the DAQControl and DataCollector core software components of the IceCube
TestDAQ. The DAQControl application is the overall configuration control application in the
TestDAQ that controls its subordinates using the RMI distributed object protocol. DataCollector is a
networked Java application which collects data from the various channels of the TestDAQ and
streams to file.
Photomultiplier
tube testing and selection for IceCube experiment.
Developer
and maintainer of MonteCarlo code for simulating ultrahigh-energy neutrino interactions
used for signal simulation of electron, muon, and tau-neutrino induced cascades in AMANDA and
IceCube.

author to IceCube Preliminary Design Document.
calibration coordinator (2001 – 2002)
Developed,
implemented, and integrated into the standard AMANDA analysis code, a minimization
routine which speeds event reconstruction by 10X.

method of calibrating AMANDA using cosmic ray muons. This method has been
incorporated into AMANDA calibration.

Sentec Corporation
Designed
and implemented C++ time-delayed neural network processor for complex pattern
recognition in real-time audio data. Programmed Win32 graphical interface shell around audio
processor which streamed audio from National Instrustruments A/D card into neural network and
displayed results to user.
In
MATLAB framework, wrote image processing FFT filters to enhance signals from holographic
silicon wafer scanning device prototype. Additonally, produced scripts for automated control of
CCD camera and X/Y table stepper.
Programmed
Windows 95 protected mode device driver (VxD) in C and x86 assembly languages for
high-performance readout of 3rd party portable spectrophotometer.
Wrote
Win32 GUI data logger to readout and display information from remote network of
nephelometer devices.
Development
and debugging of RTOS running of 8-bit PIC microcontroller device.
