Bangkok – Tata Motors launches Xenon Giant Heavy Duty Diesel and CNG plus+ to add on to
its commercial pickup range. Once again, Tata Motors is the first automotive manufacturer to
bring in Thailand pickup with heavy duty rear axle. This combined with the high performance
and fuel efficient 2.2L diesel and the upgraded CNG plus+ engine will exceed customer
expectation of quality, strength and durability to carry payload and operating economics. Also,
the company has expanded nationwide dealer network to serve its customs better.
Tata Motors Thailand celebrates its 5th anniversary of operations in Thailand by launching the
new Tata Xenon Giant Heavy Duty – Thailand’s first commercial pickup to feature heavy duty
rear axle. The 2 variants Xenon Heavy Duty with 2.2-litre diesel turbo intercooler and Xenon
Heavy Duty CNG Plus with new and improved 2.1-litre CNG-powered engine offer exceptional
value transport operators.
Mr. Ajit Venkataraman, Chief Executive Officer of Tata Motors Thailand revealed the reasoning
behind launching the 2 new Tata Xenon Giant Heavy Duty pickups, “Tata Motors is a leader in

pickups for commercial applications. Tata Motors offers 6 vehicles in the commercial vehicle
range that covers a wide range of customer needs.
We find many customers customize their
pickups themselves for specialized applications resulting in issues of reliability and loss of
warranty from the vehicle manufacturer. With Tata Xenon Giant Heavy Duty, all the
components are engineered and assembled from factory specifically for strength and durability
therefore giving our customers less things to worry about.”
Tata Motors was the first to introduce factory fitted CNG in Thailand. With 5 years of
experience, Tata Motors fully understands the demands and use of Thai pickup users and
especially the commercial operators. The new and improved Tata Xenon Giant Heavy Duty CNG
Plus is stronger, more durable and more reliable addressing the tough demands of our
customers.
Mr. Venkataraman said, “The 2 engine variants of Xenon Giant Heavy Duty will offer great value
to customers who are seeking to maintain their cost of operation as low as possible. The new
heavy duty rear axle allows stronger than regular rear axle thereby providing strength and
durability. This along with flat load body with no protruding wheel arches allows customers to
carry more loads per trip saving fuel and time which are vital for profitable operations. The new
and improved Xenon Giant Heavy Duty CNG Plus has as many as 3 CNG tanks good for a range
of over 350 kilometres, which again, translate in to time and cost saving. . These superior
performances translate into greater value for money for the customers and on top of that,
many customers would benefit from tax reimbursement under the government’s first vehicle
buying scheme. ”
The CEO of Tata Motor Thailand also said, “The new Tata Xenon Giant HD marks a step in our
market expansion to customers who have specific demands for larger capacity heavy duty
commercial vehicles. The standard duty Tata Xenon Giant diesel is being continued and
available because customers for this type of vehicle still exist widely. We are confident that the
2 new Xenon Giant Heavy Duty pickups will be well received and the launch of these two
pickups is testament to our commitment to the commercial vehicle market. With the
introduction of these two products, Tata Motors has now 6 products to address the needs of the
commercial users of pickup – the largest range offered in the market.”
Tata Motors committing to heavy commercial vehicle market
Apart from the launch of 2 new HD pickups, Tata Motors Thailand is now fully committed to
expanding in to the heavy commercial vehicle market with the creation of the Medium and
News
Heavy Commercial Vehicle department. Mr.Sompong Polchitcharoon, the Marketing General
Manager has now been appointed as the Head of Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle
department of Tata Motors Thailand.
Mr. Venkataraman said, “After we launched the Tata range of heavy duty vehicles in late 2011
with the Tata Daewoo Novus tractor trailer with choices of CNG and diesel engines, we have
received good responses from customers. Our internationally renowned medium and heavy
trucks and buses are modern, high in quality, performance and value for money. It is a great
time to introduce our range of heavy duty trucks to Thai logistics operators and business
owners who are seeking to modernize or upgrade their fleet with high quality and high
performance heavy duty trucks that make great investment sense to fulfill all their logistical and
mass transit transport needs. We are now ready to go full speed ahead with heavy duty
vehicles.”
After sales service boost
In the past 4 years, Tata Motors has expanded the number of service centres nationwide to 49
and many more are planned in the near future to better serve our growing customer base.
Upon the 5th anniversary of operations in Thailand, Tata Motors (Thailand) is proud to announce
that by the end of the 2012 fiscal year, the total number of service centres in the kingdom will
grow to 65. To strengthen customer service, a new Dealer Management System will be

The CEO of Tata Motors Thailand reaffirms the commitment to highest customer service
satisfaction by saying, “The continuous improvement of our service levels and introduction of
new products are keys to building customer confidence.”
