Teaching objectives:
 sts know that the reporting verb influences the changes from direct to indirect
speech
 sts are aware that in reported speech most pronouns have to be changed and can
use them correctly
 sts are aware that in reported speech tenses often have to be changed and can
change them correctly
 sts are aware that in reported speech adverbs of time and place often have to be
changed and can change them correctly

Content:
 instructions for sts in German
 Rules: information on the reported speech (listening and reading)
 The Reporting Verb: two drag-and-drop exercises, one with the reporting verb in
present tense, one with the reporting verb in past tense; both obligatory
 Change Of Pronouns: three cloze exercises, dialogue in direct and indirect speech,
pronouns in reported speech have to be filled in; two obligatory, one extra

their skills and post wishes for future moodle exercises; German language
 Teacher Files: original version of hot potato exercises that can be changed
individually
Structure:
 exercises follow this order to develop skills step by step
 sts can choose exercises among different levels (easy, more difficult, challenging)
according to their personal skills
 sts get the possibility to do some extra training if they feel they need it
 obligatory tasks can be chosen freely among the offered exercises
