July 12, 2015 Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time 2015 CARNIVAL RESULTS! With all the paperwork completed and the bills paid, the 2015 Carnival realized a profit of $86,811.31!!! Thank you to all the volunteers and those who came out to enjoy the rides, games and dinners! Our thanks, also, to Sue and Doug Garrett who chaired the event again this year! Their leadership contributed so much to our success! BINGO Today we hear the first of seven weeks of readings from the letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians. One word can sum up this beautiful letter: “WOW!” “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens, as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and without blemish before him. In love he destined us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ…” Before the world began, God had His plan of salvation. God chose you and me to become His adopted children, to have the right to share His eternal life and love. Think about your dignity, Christian! With St. Paul, we praise and thank the God who has so loved us! This is the story of our unique moment in history. We are living through an age of tipping points and rapid social and planetary change. We’re the first generation to feel the impacts of climate disruption, and the last generation that can do something about it. The film enlarges the issue beyond climate impacts and makes a compelling call for bold action that is strong enough to tip the balance to build a clean energy future. Stephanie Herron, of DE Sierra Club, leads the discussion after this film. DE Sierra Club is a co-sponsor of this film. Film is shown in the Daughty House adjacent to Westminster Presbyterian Church parking lot at 13th and N. Rodney Streets in Wilmington. Free parking in lot. The Series is sponsored by Pacem in Terris. For more information, call 302-656-2721 or www.depaceminterris.org. Volunteer in the Parish Social Ministry Office 1 or 2 days a month!
