FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 17, 2012 Contact: Will James, Gram InterNational 716-684-7074, bands@atticweb.com Concert Dedicated to the Legacy of Gram Parsons Returns to Nashville Event: Gram InterNational V Nashville Venue: Douglas Corner Date: November 2, 2012 Time: 6:30 pm; doors open at 6:00pm Gram InterNational, devoted to Gram Parsons' legacy and his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, announces its upcoming show at Douglas Corner on Friday, November 2, its fifth annual multi-band one-night "mini festival" in Music City. Gram InterNational V will feature an exciting lineup of bands considered in the Parsons lineage, including: Harmondale, Chris James & the Gram Band, Casey James Prestwood & the Burning Angels, The Devious Angels, Rich Mahan & the Cocktail Heroes, Donna Frost, The Burrito Brothers with Walter Egan, and James Scott Bullard & the Late Night Sweethearts. Special guest Bob Buchanan, former Gram Parsons band-mate, New Christy Minstrel, and co-author with Gram of the groundbreaking song "Hickory Wind," will play a few with Casey James Prestwood's band. Also, journalist Bob Kealing will be on hand to sign copies of his just-released book on Parsons and his early days in the South, "Carry Me Home: Gram Parsons & the Roots of Country Rock." Gram InterNational primary mission is to educate and promote the legacy of Gram Parsons and push for his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. The List of Supporters to Induct (http://gramparsonspetition.com) is currently at 7,800 signatures, with a goal of 10,000 signatures by September 19 next year, the 40th anniversary of Parsons' death. CMT.com recently posted an article naming three candidates that should be considered for the Hall in the posthumous category, Gram Parsons was one. And Peter Cooper of The Tennessean included him in a group this respected journalist and musician thought overdue for induction. It's been an exciting year for those who follow Gram Parsons' legacy, fans and musicians alike. Michael Bate, who conducted Parsons' final interview, took his stage play "Grievous Angel: The Legend of Gram Parsons" to Australia for a summer run, and also released the full version of his interview on CD for the first time. Journalist Bob Kealing's book on Parsons and his Southern roots, "Calling Me Home: Gram Parsons & the Roots of Country Rock," has just been released by University Press of Florida.
