Nicole “Nikki” Craker
Nikki Craker is a Biology major from Cleveland, Ohio. She is a member of the Honor
Scholar Program and completed a senior thesis which evaluated projected deficits in
primary care and general surgery as a result of the career decisions made by medical
students. As the Student Body President, Nikki led the four governing bodies of DePauw
Student Government, worked with the Student Life and Academic Atmosphere
Committee, collaborated with the Campus Planning Committee, and entered into many
complex and invigorating discussions with students, faculty, and staff to creatively
envision the future of DePauw. She has also been very passionately committed to
DePauw’s First-Year Experience program for three years, both as a Mentor and a Peer
Mentor. After graduation, Nikki plans to attend medical school in the hopes of serving her
community, advocating for public heath, and influencing policy as a leader in the medical
community.
Aurora Flores
Aurora Flores was born in Nicaragua, raised in Chicago, Illinois and came to DePauw as a
member of Chicago Posse VI. She is an Anthropology and Spanish double major with a
minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. On campus she has dedicated her time to
two major organizations, the Committee for Latino Concerns and Kappa Alpha Theta.
Aurora served on the executive boards of both organizations as the President of the
Committee for Latino Concerns and the Vice President of Development for Kappa Alpha
Theta. During her senior year, she served as a Presidential Ambassador for the Office of the
President. Outside of DePauw, Aurora has been actively involved with the NASPA
Undergraduate Fellows Program where she has been able to explore the field of higher
education and student affairs. After graduation, she plans on completing a year of service
with AmeriCorps and pursuing her masters degree in higher education to eventually work
with bridge programs designed to increase Latino student access to higher education.
Kevin “Canada” McLoughlin
Kevin McLoughlin is an international student from Toronto, Canada and is double
majoring in Philosophy and French. Last year, Kevin and a group of fellow students
founded Climb for a Cure, a non-profit corporation that furthers research for the treatment
of paediatric brain cancer, the disease that took the life of his seven-year-old sister. This
past Winter Term, he led a group of DePauw students to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in
a fundraising effort that attracted considerable regional media coverage and grossed over
$15,000. Kevin is also a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity and served as the President as
well as the Scholarship Chair and Social Chair. In 2009, Kevin received the Order of Omega
“Chapter President of the Year Award.” Kevin has also been a member of the DePauw
University men’s tennis team for four years. After graduation, Kevin plans to stay in
Greencastle to expand Climb for Cure, which will begin undertaking humanitarian projects
in the developing world. It is his hope that Climb for a Cure will offer DePauw students an
unparalleled opportunity to mature into our leaders of tomorrow.
