For Immediate Release Club Managers’ Association of Hong Kong Awards Scholarship to Outstanding Intern At its General Meeting at the Pacific Club on Tuesday 22 January 2013, the Club Managers’ Association of Hong Kong presented a scholarship award of HK$25,000 to Miss Alisa Hung, a final year student of the Higher Diploma in Tourism & Hospitality Management, School of Continuing & Professional Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The Association is a not-for-profit organization of general managers and senior executives of major private clubs in Hong Kong. In addition to promoting professionalism in private club management, the Association is mindful of its community service responsibility and has in the past years donated scholarships to students of various educational institutes and universities. The aim is to assist students who have the desire to develop a career in the private club industry. Miss Hung was one of the three short-listed applicants. She has won the scholarship due to her outstanding presentation and excellent internship work at a private club, coupled with her present character and amicable manner. She has expressed that she is honoured to receive the award and very interested in pursuing a career in a private club after her graduation. The Association has planned to award two scholarships each year. The next application will close on 31 March 2013 and be awarded in April/May 2013. One of the criteria for application is that the student must have worked as a full-time intern in one of the private clubs of CMA members for at least 400 hours in 10 consecutive weeks six months before application.
