Indianapolis Bar Association members have been significant but silent providers of pro bono legal
services in the Indianapolis area for over 125 years. Many of our private attorneys, government
attorneys, judges, paralegals and law students provide pro bono legal services because they
believe they have a personal and moral obligation to use their skills to benefit the less fortunate.
Serving others with time and patience, by navigating through the complex nature of the law,
upholds the very foundation of the IndyBar.
Recognition is not what motivates our members to volunteer their time and talents. However,
the IndyBar believes the commitment of these individuals should be acknowledged. Indianapolis
Bar Association members give more than $2 million worth of their time to Central Indiana
residents who cannot afford legal assistance.
