Joan Dudik-Gayoso Advisor, International Development Cooperation and Policy Member, Board of Directors, Society for International Development, Washington, D. C. Joan Dudik-Gayoso is an independent advisor on international development cooperation and policy. Past positions have included senior executive assignments at U.S. Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development and U.S. Peace Corps. Ms. Dudik-Gayoso represented the U.S. in its relations with multilateral development agencies such as the United Nations Development Program, UNICEF, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, and the World Bank. She has been responsible for supporting U.S. bilateral programs in Africa, and South Asia and food assistance programs worldwide. She represented the US on the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development. She directed Africa Operations at Peace Corps headquarters, taught development at Georgetown University, George Washington University, and Thunderbird Graduate School. Ms. Dudik-Gayoso is a trainer for the Department of State Department’s Foreign Service Institute(multilateral diplomacy) and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (integrating science into the foreign policy process). She is Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Washington Chapter of the Society for International Development, and serves as Vice President of the InfoChange - a foundation committed to assuring access of underserved populations in developing countries to the new information technologies. Ms. Dudik-Gayoso received her BA with high honors in international relations with a minor in economics and languages from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
