The 12th Hong Kong Wushu International
Championship Regulation
Introduction:
Hong Kong Wushu International Championship have successfully held 11 times, it has been 12
years already to year 2014 , and received 50,000 athletes in total who come from 50
countries，as well as prepared bonus and prizes value of 2,000,000RMB for best coaches and
athletes .
In the past years, committee got lots of supports form public and martial arts circles,so it is
larger and larger in scale, and becoming more and more excellent in content. Now committee
would like to say thanks sincerely! We will try our best to improve the standard of championship,
provide perfect service，make the championship to be the great wushu gathering like what the
people think in their hearts.
The 12th Hong Kong Wushu International Championship will be grandly hold on March 18 -20th,
2014 (the Chinese lunar calendar February 18th to 20th) ，at the beautiful pearl of orient—Hong
Kong!
This time, we will prepare gifts for athletes with value of 1000, 000RMB, and prepare the
mascots for champion named “Ma Gong Cheng”. In 2020 British Olympic Games wushu is not
selected as one of the match items，so our 12th Hong Kong Wushu International
Championship is named “Dream Cup”，hoping wushu lovers make their dream come true
quickly. This time we will provide a prize “100,000RMB” to encourage athletes do their perfect
show, and just for the person who get the highest score from the four all-around group! Cheer
for Chinese wushu! Strengthen Chinese wushu！
Everybody have their own dreams, and the dream of committee is making the championship
not only more athletes, but also more maters joining together in our championship, through the
international window of Hong Kong,and making Chinese wushu shining over the world!

Park or Macau (one day for Macau Touring 400RMB / person).

Competition Time
一. Individual event: 2 minutes
二. Taijiquan (Tai Chi): 6 minutes
三. Taichi weapon, mulanquan, mulan weapon, Tai chi soft ball exchange: 5 minutes
四. Dual events: over 40 seconds , taichi dual、push hand：3 minutes
五. Group events: Wushu taolu, health qigong at least six people, Tai chi soft ball exchange at
least eight people (background music is permitted ， but need prepare it by team
themselves )：6 minutes.
六. Taekwondo individual and group competition: one and a half minutes( team members 6-10);
Taekwondo dance / exercise: three and a half minutes (team members 6-10) (background
music is permitted，but need prepare it by athlete himself).
七. Free combat competition: adopting the rules of the two out of three games, only 2 minutes
per game, and 1 minute break.
八. Chinese Wresting: two games for each match, 2 minutes per game, 30 seconds break

Remark:
1、All the competition time not allowed less than 40 seconds
2、For Individual、dual events, athlete who uses time longer than the regulated time 2 seconds
will be deduct 0.1point, according to this rule, Taichiquan /MuLanquan / Taekwondo poomsae
group，the team / athletes who use time longer than the regulated time will be deduct 0.1point
too.
Awards Rules
一、Wushu Taolu (routine) competition
1、Individual and group events will be matriculated respectively according to domestic and foreign
areas.
2、Individual events admitted the first 8 athletes respectively according to their group、event and
gender. The champion will get “Ma Gong Cheng” mascot、Wu Kui 、medal and certificate, the
runner-up will get medal、certificate, and others get the certificate only.
3、Dual events admitted the first 8 athletes respectively according to their age group, event and
gender, should be in same age group .Taichi / Pushing hand takes the youngest age standard
in the team,others take the oldest age standard in the team. The top 3 will get medal and
certificate respectively. And committee has a new award “King of Kings”, for the events of
Changquan / South Style Boxing / TaiChiquan / Traditional wushu, and no age group limitation
in Dual events.
4、Group events allow different ages in one group, Taichi takes the youngest age standard in the
group, others take the oldest age standard in the group. The top 3 will get certificate
respectively according to their age group, event, and gender.
二、Free Combat Championship

三、Taekwondo Invitational Tournament
1. In individual and dual events, the top 3 will get medal and certificate respectively based
on the 1/3 number of participants.

2. In group events, the top 3 will get trophy and certificate respectively based on the 1/3
number of participants.
3. Best Technology Award will be given to the top 5 athletes with trophy, “Ma Gong Cheng”
mascot , and certificate.
4. “Martial Spirit Award” will be given to the team over 20 participants.
四、Chinese Wrestling
It matriculates respectively according to age group、event and gender. More than 5

Fitness Ball Performance
1、The group Stunt Skill / Health Qigong / Wushu Exercise / Tai Chi Ball / Waist Drum
Dance / Fitness Ball Performance will be awarded the performance prize, and the top 3
will get medals and certificates base on the 1/3 number of participants.
2、The individual Health Qigong、Exercises / Stunt skill / Tai Chi Ball will be awarded the
performance prize and the top 3 will get medals and certificates base on the 1/3 number
of participants. The content of stunt exhibition has to get the approval of committee in
advance, and the performers have to prepare relative equipment by themselves.
Competition Rules
(1) Wushu Taolu competition complies with the 1991 Wushu Competition Rules and the
complementary regulations made by Chinese Martial Arts Association.
（2）Free combat championship complies with the 1999 International Wushu Sanshou
Competition Rules and the complementary regulations made by International Wushu
Federation.
（3）Taekwondo tournament complies with the latest Taekwondo Competition Rules made
by International Taekwondo Association
（4）Chinese Wrestling complies with the 2007 Wushu Competition Rules by Chinese
Wrestling Association

Competition Sportswear and Equipment
一、 Wushu Taolu Competition/ Health Qigong、Exercises
There is no compulsive regulation about the competition sportswear, but the athletes
should wear proper characteristic sportswear.
二、 Free Combat Championship
Committee will provide athletes with head guard, chest protectors and boxing gloves.
Athletes should wear their own leg protectors、teeth guards、crotch guards and boxer shorts.
And they are required to bare their feet in the competition.
三、Taekwondo Invitational Tournament
Every team can choose their sportswear by themselves.
四、Chinese Wrestling
Athletes wear their own wrestling clothes, wrestle pants and wrestle boots should under the
competition rule requirement
Application
一、 Registration deadline is January 18th, 2014.
二、 Wushu lovers come from all over the world can participate in, and can be named by the
sponsor enterprise or individual.
三、 The Wushu Taolu competition athletes have to apply at least 2 events. But if the athletes
join our hotel package, each athlete could take part in 4 events for free: two individual
events, one group event, and one dual event.
四、 Within 30 days after the registration deadline (February 18th, 2014) the participators who
will absent for any reasons by written application can still get back all deposit except the
entry fee. After February 18th, none of the fee will be refund.
五、 To guarantee the competition normal and orderly, any adjustment for application must
submit a written application with 50RMB for administration charge.

Other Rules
(1) Free Combat Competition/ Chinese Wrestling
Must provide the following documents:
① Athletes should take the medical body checking in county level hospital three months
before in advance, and mail the Health Certificate to committee.
② Accident Disclaimer: there is no responsible for committee if accident occur on athlete
during the championship time because of negligence by themselves or poor physical
fitness.
③ Weight Guarantee Statement: need take a weigh before enter the filed . The
abstention will be declared if the weight is proved over 1kg than the application form.
Remark：above three documents need be mailed to committee before Jan.20th.2014.if don’t
get it,committee will cancel the athlete qualification for championship.
Application Fee
For saving the fee and time, athletes please arrange the schedule correctly, and then they
will have much time for sightseeing. This year events will be arranged according to age group.
Age groups 29 years old and below and taekwondo match time will try to be arranged on
March 18, 19 (Tuesday and Wednesday), age groups 30 years old and above will try to be
arranged on March 19, 20, (Wednesday and Thursday), as a result, all athletes can schedule
their reasonable arrangement of time to travel.
一、Application
1、Athlete need fill in the application form based on events 、age and group .
2、①send the copy of ID card (or passport、birth certificate) to organizing committee；
②one piece of 2 inches photo without hat (remember write down the name on the back of

photo)；
二、Fee
(一) For people who follow the accommodation provided by committee
1、Entry fee: ￥380 RMB/person
2、Conference fee: ￥180RMB/person (only competitor have to pay)
①6/8/16 person apartment fee: ￥1980RMB/person
Remark: the style of apartment is for 6 people (one room)/ 8 people (four rooms)/16 people
(four rooms). Committee will not allot the room with gender, one team should
order one whole room at least, and only book one bed is not allowed.
②Five star hotel fee: ￥2980RMB/person
(二) Discount under accommodation
When the number of group members is more than or equal to 16, one will be free of
charge (except service fee)
(三) People who follow the accommodation can enjoy the follows services
1、4 nights’ accommodation in Kong Hong；
2、Free 4 days breakfasts in luxurious five-star hotel；
3 、 Souvenirs provided by the committee valuable 100 RMB and below items for
championship (Cards 、memorable certificate 、proceeding of a conference );
4、Free transportation: Shenzhen port - Hong Kong station - Shenzhen port;
5、Free shuttle bus between hotel and arena；
6、Free four events offered by the committee: two individual events, one dual event, and
one group event（do not include dual event for “King of Kings”）. For taekwondo athletes,

committee will provide free one individual event and two group events, for free combat/
Chinese Wrestling athletes; committee will provide one free combat/ Chinese Wrestling
event and one taolu event. And other extra events have to pay 380 RMB /item.
(四) For people who arrange accommodation by themselves
1、Entry fee：￥380RMB/person
Conference fee：￥180RMB/person (only competitor have to pay)
2、Individual event and dual event:￥380RMB/ event (at least apply two events )
3、Group event：￥200RMB/person/event
4、Taekwondo：poomsae ￥380RMB /person/event
5、Free combat/ Chinese Wrestling：￥680RMB/person/event
6、Souvenirs valuable 100 RMB provided by committee、below items for championship
(Card 、memorable certificate 、proceeding of a conference );
Remark：Make sure that all the fee must be submitted before Jan.20.2014,charge by RMB.
Eight Awards
一、Individual all-around taolu “King Of Kings ” awards
1、Introduction
In 2006, the fourth Hong Kong Wushu International Championship Set up 100,000 RMB
for personal cash awards. Since track and field, tennis and other sports competition al had
millions of awards, why didn't martial arts? Originally the RMB 100,000 bonus was for world
highest score holder, but referees and team leaders thought the bonus was too concentrated,
then committee divided it into four categories: Changquan / South Style Boxing / TaiChiquan /
Traditional taolu. Finally athletes from Wuhan University of Technology won the gold medal in
Changquan / South Style Boxing / TaiChiquan and got the prize of 75,000 athletes from Beijing
Sports University (professional of martial arts) won the traditional class gold medal, and got the
prize of 25,000 RMB. At that time, the bonus caused great repercussions, actively promote the
Hong Kong Wushu International Championship. But because of the difficulty in getting high
scores, then committee slowly spread the concentrated bonus into each age group. "Dream
cup" the 12th Hong Kong Wushu International Championship, will once again set up
100,000RMB bonus in cash prize, injecting positive energy into Chinese Wushu, and
hope for martial arts prosperous!

2、Apply way
（1）Athletes must participate in one boxing / instrument / dual event , three events in total ,
for the "King of Kings" supreme award, no matter domestic or overseas, regardless of
Gender and age. Events are divided into four categories: Changquan / South Style Boxing /
TaiChiquan / Traditional, in accordance with the highest boxing、instruments and double points
give to dual event , Three score of the sum of calculation. Four “King Of Kings ”come from
Highest score in the four categories .
（2）Be sure fair and just ,the athlete who apply the Individual all-around taolu “King Of
Kings ” awards,the score of the dual event need separate it from the Ordinary athletes.the dual
event for “King Of Kings ” grade together , Each of the other need to pay 200RMB ,If you paid
it and pass the examine and verify can get one gift valuable 300 RMB . For protecting the
standard of championship ,150 person only .
(三) Rewards way
The total bonus of “King Of Kings ” is 100,000RMB .the champion of every category will
get 25,000RMB and one suit /medal .and the coach (one ) will get four suits for four seasons
and medal which named “King of Kings ”Coach .
二、Wushu taolu group awards
1、Rewards condition
Qualified group must have at least 20 athletes.
Select one highest score (individual event、dual event or group event) of each athlete, then
add them one by one to get the group total score.
2、Rewards way
(1) The champion group (quota 1) will get the bonus HKD10000 and “XieZhi” Cloth valuable
HKD10000, the second group(quota 1) will get bonus HKD5000 and “XieZhi “ Cloth
valuable HKD5000, the third group (quota 100) will get “XieZhi” Cloth valuable
HKD1000 .
(2) All the groups will get their group medals respectively.
三、Free combat competition/ Chinese Wrestling awards
1、The champion of every grade will get the bonus HKD500,and the belt /certificate/ Wu Kui
table/ one suit .
2、The second of every grade will get Silver medal/certificate /one suit.

四、Taekwondo group awards
The champion group will get “XieZhi” Cloth valuable HKD3000, the second group will
get “XieZhi” Cloth valuable HKD2000, the third group will get “XieZhi” Cloth valuable HKD1000,
and all the groups will get their certificates and trophy respectively. Besides, the fourth and the
fifth group can also get the certificates.
The score solution is as follow:
1. Group events (including mixed/ dual events/ Taekwondo dance ), the top three’s scores
are 12, 10, 8, respectively.
2. Individual events, the top three’s scores are 10, 8, 6 respectively.
3. All above scores added one by one equal the group final score.
Remark: all the awards will be reported on the website after April 8th.2014.
五、Wushu outstanding contribution awards
1、Rewards condition：The organizing committee will choose and praise the outstanding
participants who make great contributions on promoting, propagandizing and popularizing
Chinese martial arts.
2、Rewards way：Gold prize (quota 10) is HKD1000 and one suit xiezhi cloth, silver prize
(quota 10) is HKD500 and one xiezhi T shirt, bronze prize (quota 30) is one suit xiezhi
cloth and each one has a medal.
六、Respect elders 、Golden boy award and oldest age award
1、Rewards purpose：It is to encourage all people to actively participate in martial arts, and
to promote the development of martial arts.
2、Rewards way：the athlete’s age below 4
or above 75 can get one gift .
3、Golden boy award and oldest age award will be based on Respect elders: Choose
the youngest and the oldest participators (according to the copy of registered permanent
residence or birth certificate) from the competition list, award them bonus HKD1000 and
medal respectively.
七、The 12th Hong Kong Wushu International Championship moral awards
There are many participators in previous wushu championship returning lost money and
being happy to help others, thus this time the organizing committee added 10 moral awards,

and will issue tapestry flags and certificates as well as bonus HKD1000 to each moral
winners.
八、Best referees awards
All leaders of the referees have the right to vote the most impartial referee after this
championship, and the organizing committee will give out the gift and certificate ,then they will
be invited to take part in next championship .
Eight
Activities
一、To choose the best coaches
According to competition results and scores of all previous Hong Kong wushu
international championship , the organizing committee will discuss and select the best
team ， then choose the best coach from these teams . In 12th Hong Kong Wushu
international championship only 100 person who can get the certificates of “best
coach ”and the gifts “Wu word T shirt ” as a present from committee .
二、Communications of Chinese and Foreign Martial Arts
Hong Kong Wushu International Championship is the biggest championship in the world,
which attracts many martial arts lovers coming from home and abroad every year, there is no
doubt that martial arts are more and more extensive and profound, each developed in its own
way .This year we will hold the communication activity, Chinese and foreign friends sitting
together and communicating views, so welcome martial arts masters to participate in our
activities.
三、Hong Kong sightseeing、shopping and extra travelling
In the past few years committee afford the free travelling for the teams what booked the
hotel by committee, but the problem is that many teams attending the free travelling repeat
which cause many other teams lost chance, so this year we change it into extra travelling, who
want to apply it need pay 20 RMB before Jan 20th .2014, and will get a gift valuable 50 RMB.
四、Macau sightseeing (one day)
There are also some all-expense tours, like travelling at Disney, Ocean Park, and night
cruising Hong Kong and Macau, etc. And people who have interest about all-expense tours
have to tell us and pay the cost in advance, then they could receive our special beautiful
journey. For details please contact the organizing committee.

1、For making the activities in Hong Kong splendid ,committee will contact travel agencies, with
400 RMB / person of Macau customs trips (including Hong Kong - Macau tickets、tour
guide、 lunch、bus fares、 travel insurance), and depart from Hong Kong in the morning and
end in the evening ,then send to Zhuhai Gongbei port to return to the mainland.
2、If you need accommodation in Macau, a double room per night is about RMB 800, who
willing to participate in it need to sign up and pay in full travel expenses before January 20th,
2014.
五、Wushu film star autograph session
In order to better satisfy the requirements of participators, we committee will specially
organize some wushu film stars to sign their name as souvenir and take photos with team
captains, coaches and athletes to commemorate this wushu international championship.
六、Grading System (DAN SYSTEM) of Chinese Wushu Examination
Continue last five years Dan grading examinations with Chinese Wushu Association, this
time grade 1-3 will be identified by competition result; grade 4-6 will be appraised individually
at special place; (overseas) grade 7-8 will be evaluated after training. And people who apply
for Wushu Dan grading have to sign up and pay the cost in advance, and hand in related
documentation timely.
七、World elites martial arts performance
On March 20th night , committee will invite World Martial Arts Masters、famous person and
the best athlete come from different countries taking part in the World elites martial arts
performance, for example Wushu Taolu , Wushu comedy , boxing , wrestling, taekwondo, stunt
capability, tai chi soft power ball, fitness qigong, and so on. Performers also can get the
certificates and souvenirs.
八、Finding 12 years memory
Reward your activities: the person who can collect all the invitation letter since year 2003,
from the first Wushu championship to this year 12 letters in total, and mail to the organizing
committee, will get the prize in cash 1888RMB. First come first served (only first 15 people).

(1) The age calculation of every participator is based on 1st Jan 2014.
(2) “M” stand for Male, “F” stand for Female.
(3) Dual events and group events will not divided by male and female, or age categories, but individual
events have to follow the relative age categories. The tai chi events’ age standard is depended on the
youngest, but non tai chi events’ age standard is depended on the highest age.
(4) For special style individual item, if there are at least 30 athletes, and make sure there are at least 2
athletes in the same age group, the wushu item may apply for a single event to compete.

(5) After the deadline, if there is only one athlete in an age group, the committee will arrange he/ she join
into other boxing (weapon) at the same age group to compete.
