The following are scholarships that are available to the
Class of 2015. The common application must be
submitted to the guidance office by April 7th at 2:05 pm
for ALL scholarships. Essays/supplements will be
submitted to the guidance office OR mailed directly to
the organization. Please check all scholarships for
individual instructions.
A. Craig R. Robinson Memorial Scholarship
Background: This scholarship is being established in memory of Craig R. Robinson who
was born and raised in Robbinsville Township. He attended Sharon School. His love for
flying led him to the Robbinsville Airport. He obtained FAA ratings, including certified
flight instructor, instrument instructor, and multi-engine instructor. He then joined the
Washington Twp. Police Department where he pursued his career as a Communications
Officer and Police Officer.
Award: $500.00 scholarship
Eligibility: RHS Senior of high moral character and academic standing who plans to
attend a four year college or university.

B. Friends of the Raven Players- Drama Scholarship/Recognition
Award: up to two $500.00 scholarships
Eligibility: RHS senior planning to enroll in a college/university with a 4-year degree
program.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0+ (weighted)

C. Princeton Review Scholarship
Award: $1,000.00 scholarship
Eligibility:
The length of the essay is a minimum of one-double spaced page. Please choose one
question from the list below and attach your essay to the application.

A diverse student body is essential to creating a dynamic, lively, educational
campus community. College admissions officers are just as concerned with the
contributions incoming student will make outside of the classroom as they are
concerned with GPA and standardized test scores. In what ways can you see
yourself contributing to the campus community outside of the classroom?

Describe in detail an event or individual who inspires or motivates you to pursue
higher education.

A penny saved may be a penny earned. But what if you won a million dollars?
Surely there would be several ways you might spend your money. Describe what
you would do if tomorrow you won a million dollars.

Eligibility:
- Female graduating senior pursuing higher education
- Resides in Robbinsville Twp, (Mercer County)
- 300 – 350 word essay titled, “Describe the steps you took to reach a goal,
and how it will impact your future education and career?”
- All essays must be typed and fit on ONE page.

Award:
Two $500 Scholarships
Eligibility:
For students who meet the following criteria:
- Minimum GPA 2.0/ C Average at RHS
- Student or immediate family member has remained a member of the
PTSA in good standing during the student time at RHS
- Enrolled in postsecondary education program
- Essay by student OR interview if preferred by student
- Actively involved in the community beyond community service required by
RHS to fulfill graduation requirement

 Can demonstrate taking initiative in a community related event
 Can provide specific example/s of good citizenship/responsibility in the
community

Award:
Two $500 Scholarships
Eligibility:
For students who meet the following criteria:
- Minimum GPA 2.0/ C Average at RHS
- Student or immediate family member has remained a member of the
PTSA in good standing during the student time at RHS
- Enrolled in postsecondary education program
- Essay by student OR interview if preferred by student
- Actively involved in school beyond school requirement

I. Joyce Ricci Student Advocate Memorial Award – Pond Road Middle School PTA
Award: $500.00 Scholarship
Eligibility:
- Applicant must describe their personal experience with community service
and how it has enlightened them. Please describe how these experiences
shaped your sense of honesty, humility, and compassion

Award: $500.00 Scholarship
Eligibility:
- Essay topic: What are your career goals and how have you prepared for
these goals over the past 4 years i.e. academic accomplishments, community
service, and/or work experience.
- Essay should be between 250-350 words.
- Minimum GPA of a 3.0

Award: Up to two $250.00 scholarships
Eligibility: The award is granted to a graduating senior of Robbinsville high school who
attended Pond Road Middle School for a minimum of two years. This student should
show the values that Mary Lou Elgrim treasured and portrayed over her years of
teaching: Honesty, Humility, Diligences, Compassion, Perseverance and Love.
Method of Application:

- A teacher must complete the Friends of Mary Lou Elgrim recommendation
form. You should provide the teacher with the form and an addressed and

L. Robbinsville/Hamilton Sunrise Rotary Foundation Award
Award: Scholarship will vary in monetary value ($250-$1000)
Eligibility: Senior who is continuing their education by pursuing a two or four year
college, vocational or technical school and resides in Hamilton or Robbinsville.
Information on the scholarship can be found on the Rotary website.
- At the end of the first year of school recipient may be requested to present a
short talk to the Rotary Club of Robbinsville Hamilton Sunrise on his/her
first year experience in their new school

M. James A. Debold “Service Above Self” Award
Award: $1000.00 scholarship
Eligibility: Senior who is continuing his or her education in Communications or
Journalism, including Advertising, Multimedia, Public Relations, Publishing and
Radio/TV residing in Hamilton or Robbinsville. Information on the scholarship can be
found on the Rotary website.

Award: $500.00 scholarship
Eligibility: For a senior student who is continuing his/her education at a technical,
vocational, or trade school.

O. Qasim Mohammed Ali Muzaffar Scholarship
Award: $2000 scholarship.
Eligibility: RHS senior who participated in Robbinsville High School interscholastic
athletics throughout their high school career. Student must have maintained a minimum
of a B average. Student should be pursuing college studies physical therapy, sports
medicine, and athletic training or sports related medical fields.

Award: $2000 scholarship.

Q. First Baptist Church Scholarship
Award: Two $100.00 scholarships. One for a female student and one for a male student.
Eligibility: The award is granted to an African American graduating senior, who will be
attending a 4 year institution. The recipient must be will be willing to attend a service at
First Baptist Church

R. Robbinsville Irish Heritage Association
Award: $500 scholarship.
Eligibility: The award is given to a Robbinsville High School senior with acceptance to
an accredited 2 or 4 year institution of higher education.
- Community service of no less than 40 hours
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
Method of Application:
- Complete the common application to be returned to guidance.
- Send recent copy of grades
- Listing of community service time
- If Irish, a letter explaining what your Irish Heritage means to you. If you are
not of Irish descent, your thoughts/opinions on Irish Heritage and culture. In

addition, please add your short and long term goals and how this scholarship
will help you attain them.
Two letters of recommendation as to why you deserve this scholarship.

S. Washington Wellness Center Health Care Scholarship
Award: $500 scholarship.
Eligibility: This award is granted to a student who has excelled in Anatomy and
Physiology and intends to use the knowledge in a health care career.
Method of Application:

- Write a one (1) page essay on your goals/aspirations and how it relates to the
health care career.
- Student should demonstrate strong academic excellence and submit a teacher
letter of recommendation from the Anatomy and Physiology teacher.

T. Community Foundation of New Jersey- Ernest C. Palsho Memorial Scholarship
Award: $1000 scholarship. Award will be made payable to the educational institution
you will be attending.
Eligibility: Recipient must be a graduating high school senior from Robbinsville
Township who has demonstrated excellence in community service and who is in pursuit
of higher education. Must include college or university you will attending.
Method of Application:

- Write a one (1) page essay describing your involvement in community
service.

U. Diane E. Dwyer Memorial Scholarship
Background: This scholarship is established in memory of Ms. Diane E. Dwyer who
served as the Manager of Human Resources in the Robbinsville School District from
2009 to 2013. Ms. Dwyer (Diane) was a consummate professional who understood that
strong relationships with people matter most. Her quiet yet joyful spirit created a context
where she was able to interact with all members of the faculty in a way that made each
feel valued and important at all times. Diane was a woman who was guided by the values
of hard work, family, and faith, which added to a spirit that valued learning and
excellence. All of these traits made her an invaluable resource to the school community.
Award: $1,000 scholarship for one male and one female RHS senior
Eligibility: RHS senior(s) of high moral character and academic standing who plan to
attend a four-year college or university.

The following quote by Betty Smith hung over Ms. Dwyer’s desk: “Look at
everything as though you were seeing it for the first time or the last time. Then
your time on earth will be filled with Glory.” How might this impact your work

V. Christian Regulski Memorial Scholarship
Award: Two $500.00 Scholarships for a Male or Female student.
Eligibility: RHS Senior who has, in the determination of the Regulski Family and the
Board of Directors of the Robbinsville Lacrosse Association, portrayed:
- Positive sportsmanship in the lacrosse community
- Has given back to the lacrosse community
- Has been committed to the RLA and RHS Lacrosse program (does not need
4 years of service)
- Please use the following topic to complete an essay: “What have I
learned from being a part of the lacrosse team? How has that
influenced the person I have/hope to become?” Be creative and unique

W. The Comfort Keepers Seniors Caring for Seniors Scholarship
Award: $500.00 Scholarship
Eligibility:
1. Looking for the student who demonstrates the most heart and compassion for our
senior population.
2. Student will submit an essay describing what they have done to impact the life of
a senior or a group of seniors.

X. Richard Leber Memorial Scholarship
Award: $2500.00 Scholarship. Award will be made payable to the educational
institution you will be attending.
Eligibility:
1. Student must be a US citizen.
2. Student will have attended RHS all 4 years and graduate in good standing with a
GPA of 3.0 or higher.
3. Students must write an essay demonstrating financial hardship.

Award: One $300 Scholarship
Eligibility: The award is given to a Robbinsville High School senior

“How the PTA has impacted my learning experience in the Mercer County
Schools.”

Z. NHS Scholarship
Award: One $500 Scholarship
Eligibility: The award is given to a Robbinsville High School senior who has tragically
lost a parent or guardian within the last 5 years. The student must be enrolled in a 2 or 4
year college or university or attending a secondary or vocational trade school
immediately after graduation.
Method of Application:
- Complete the common application to be returned to guidance.
- Write a 500-650 word essay reflecting on the following:
“Please explain how your responsibilities changed after the loss of your parent or
guardian. Also, discuss any advice you would give another student who is
experiencing a similar tragedy.”

Senior
Performing Arts Scholarship/Recognition
2015 Application
The Friends of the Raven Players Performing Arts Scholarship was established to honor
those seniors who actively support and participate in the Robbinsville High School
performing arts program. The selection is based on documented results of the applicant’s
scholastic performance and performing arts activities. This document defines the process
for selecting the students who will be awarded college scholarships.
Deadline:
Scholarship applications must be delivered to the RHS Guidance Office
by 2:05 p.m. Thursday, April 2nd. This application is 6 pages long.

Be an RHS senior planning to enroll in an accredited college/university with a 4year degree program
Cumulative GPA of 3.0+ (weighted)
Turn in their application with all supporting information by April 2nd , 2015
No late applications or incomplete applications will be accepted
Selection Criteria
The selection criteria consist of a point system composed of the following:

Current grade point average (GPA) as recorded by RHS multiplied by 3. (15
points maximum)

Number of performing arts performances and activities (cast and/or crew)
participated in at high school. (60 points maximum).
o Fall Drama, Spring Musical – 4 Points for full participation in each
performance i.e. attended major portion of practice and performance; 1
Point for all other participation
o Evening of Stars – 3 Points for performing and organizing; 2 Points
for organizing; 1 Point for performance
o Young Americans, Instant Theatre Festival, NJ Thespian Festival,
One Acts, Shakesperience – 2 Points

Awards, honors and leadership roles related to performing arts performances and
activities. 1 point per award, honor or leadership role. (10 points maximum)

Essay by the student. Each committee member will read all applicants’ essays
and then assign a relative value between 0 and 15 points. The points assigned by
all committee members will be averaged and this number will be used for the total
points calculation. (15 points maximum)
Selection Method
1. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants with the most points.
2. The scholarship committee shall keep recipients names confidential until
the Senior Awards Night to be held on June 2nd, 2015.
