Robbinsville High School Local Scholarship Booklet Class of 2015 The following are scholarships that are available to the Class of 2015. The common application must be submitted to the guidance office by April 7th at 2:05 pm for ALL scholarships. Essays/supplements will be submitted to the guidance office OR mailed directly to the organization. Please check all scholarships for individual instructions. A. Craig R. Robinson Memorial Scholarship Background: This scholarship is being established in memory of Craig R. Robinson who was born and raised in Robbinsville Township. He attended Sharon School. His love for flying led him to the Robbinsville Airport. He obtained FAA ratings, including certified flight instructor, instrument instructor, and multi-engine instructor. He then joined the Washington Twp. Police Department where he pursued his career as a Communications Officer and Police Officer. Award: $500.00 scholarship Eligibility: RHS Senior of high moral character and academic standing who plans to attend a four year college or university. Princeton Review Scholarship Award: $1,000.00 scholarship Eligibility: The length of the essay is a minimum of one-double spaced page. Please choose one question from the list below and attach your essay to the application. A diverse student body is essential to creating a dynamic, lively, educational campus community. College admissions officers are just as concerned with the contributions incoming student will make outside of the classroom as they are concerned with GPA and standardized test scores. In what ways can you see yourself contributing to the campus community outside of the classroom? Describe in detail an event or individual who inspires or motivates you to pursue higher education. Eligibility: The award is given to a Robbinsville High School senior with acceptance to an accredited 2 or 4 year institution of higher education. - Community service of no less than 40 hours - GPA of 3.0 or higher Method of Application: - Complete the common application to be returned to guidance. - Send recent copy of grades - Listing of community service time - If Irish, a letter explaining what your Irish Heritage means to you. If you are not of Irish descent, your thoughts/opinions on Irish Heritage and culture. In - addition, please add your short and long term goals and how this scholarship will help you attain them. Two letters of recommendation as to why you deserve this scholarship. Eligibility: This award is granted to a student who has excelled in Anatomy and Physiology and intends to use the knowledge in a health care career. Award will be made payable to the educational institution you will be attending. Eligibility: Recipient must be a graduating high school senior from Robbinsville Township who has demonstrated excellence in community service and who is in pursuit of higher education. Must include college or university you will attending. Deadline: Application must be submitted by April 7th at 2:05 to the Guidance Office U. Diane E. Dwyer Memorial Scholarship Background: This scholarship is established in memory of Ms. Diane E. Dwyer who served as the Manager of Human Resources in the Robbinsville School District from 2009 to 2013. Ms. Dwyer (Diane) was a consummate professional who understood that strong relationships with people matter most. Her quiet yet joyful spirit created a context where she was able to interact with all members of the faculty in a way that made each feel valued and important at all times. Diane was a woman who was guided by the values of hard work, family, and faith, which added to a spirit that valued learning and excellence. All of these traits made her an invaluable resource to the school community. Good Luck! ~RHS Guidance Friends of the Raven Players Senior Performing Arts Scholarship/Recognition 2015 Application The Friends of the Raven Players Performing Arts Scholarship was established to honor those seniors who actively support and participate in the Robbinsville High School performing arts program. The selection is based on documented results of the applicant’s scholastic performance and performing arts activities. This document defines the process for selecting the students who will be awarded college scholarships. Deadline: Scholarship applications must be delivered to the RHS Guidance Office by 2:05 p.m. Thursday, April 2nd. This application is 6 pages long.
