Description:
The Department of Radiation Oncology at Washington University in St. Louis, School of
Medicine, seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area of medical image analysis,
especially medical image registration and segmentation. The school is consistently
ranked one of the top five in USA. The successful candidate will work on an NIH/NCI
funded project on tumor segmentation and validation in patient PET/CT and MRI images.
The validation will reconstruct a 3D pathology tumor volume from the surgically excised
tumor and register it with in vivo PET/CT, MRI images. Image guided radiation therapy
(IGRT) is a hot area in Radiation Oncology, which is a clinical field ideal for the
applications of image analysis techniques.
This position is immediately available. The initial appointment is two years with possible

Qualifications:
A PhD or PhD candidate close to graduation in Computer Science, Electrical
Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics or a related field. Applicants should be
experienced in some of the following areas: image registration, image analysis, computer
vision, signal processing, medical imaging, or experimental physics. Good programming
skills and communication skills.
