505 0_ CHEAT SHEET
Examples given are basic contents notes. Sometimes you may see enhanced contents
notes, with 2nd indicator 0 and additional subfields: $t (title), $r (statement of
responsibility), $g (other information). Either way is fine.
Remember to use sentence case (only capitalize first word and proper nouns, except
capitalize German nouns) and follow this format when creating contents notes.
In general do not bother editing punctuation, capitalization, or spacing in existing contents
notes unless it is confusing or inconsistent.. Do fix typos, unless the typo appears on the
item. Then provide a corrected form: Sonata no. 1 for paino (i.e. piano) / Beethoven.
Remember to include and check diacritical marks (umlaut, accent, etc.)
For works all by the same composer in 1 volume:

Multiple composers or arrangers, or an arranger only, may be involved. Identify
arrangers based on the score/recording noting that the person is an arranger.
