Saugerties, NY Person Charged: James RJ Desousa Charged Person’s Age: 27 Address of Person Charged: 20 Burt Street, Village of Saugerties Arraigned: Yes If Arraigned, What was the Outcome? Bail if so How Much? Bail set at $1000 cash/$2000 bond, and remanded to the Ulster County Jail. Narrative of What Occurred: At approx. 7:25pm Saugerties Police responded for a dispute in the roadway in front of 489 Old Stage Rd in the Town of Saugerties. A person walking on Old Stage Road had signaled to a person driving erratically to slow down. This initiated an altercation between the two parties, one being Desousa, thus resulting in charges being filed. Desousa and another one of the offending parties, fled the scene prior to arrival of Police. Desousa was located shortly after midnight, walking in the village of Saugerties. Officer arrested Desousa, who was then processed at police headquarters on the criminal charges of Harassment in the 2nd Degree and Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree. Desousa was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in Lieu of $1,000 cash bail. Desousa is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Saugerties Court on May 27, 2015.
