(AMEX: JCS), today announced the introduction of three new Ethernet switches. These new MILAN by Transition Networks Ethernet switches are designed to meet the port, performance, security and management requirements of today’s business customers. “We continue to expand and enhance our Ethernet switch portfolio in anticipation of the changing needs of our business customers,” said Patrick Schaber, director of marketing at Transition Networks. “With these new Ethernet switches, customers using or considering applications such as VoIP or multimedia services within their network are able to take advantage of the QoS, IGMP and other advance features that these switches offer at an affordable price.” Transition’s Ethernet switch portfolio includes the following switch models: MIL-S4800 (Unmanaged 48 port 10/100Base-TX plus 1 10/100/1000Base-TX port and 1 Gigabit SFP port) MIL-SM4004TG (Managed 4 port 10/100/1000Base-TX plus 4 SFP 1000Base-X ports) MIL-SEM24T4GPA (Managed 20 port 10/100/1000Base-TX plus 4 RJ-45/SFP combo ports) Product Features The MIL-S4800 is an unmanaged Ethernet switch that has 48 10/100 Base-TX ports with 1 10/100/1000 Base-TX port and 1 Gigabit SFP port. The switch has automatic MDI/MDIX to adjust for straight-through or crossover cables during installation. The switch has a rugged metal chassis with internal power supply to provide reliability. The MIL-S4800 conforms to the IEEE 802.3, 802.u, 802.3ab, 802.3z and 802.3x standards. The MIL-SM4004TG is a managed Ethernet switch that has 4 10/100/1000Base-TX ports plus 4 Gigabit SFP ports. The MIL-SM4004TG layer 2 managed Ethernet switch provides high performance non-blocking switching. Features of the MIL-SM4004TG include port based, dynamic and static VLANs, GVRP, VLAN tagging, IGMP snooping or querying, port mirroring and DHCP client or server modes. Four priority queues insure minimum delay for voice over IP or multimedia networks. Non-blocking 16Gbps architecture assures rapid packet delivery while the 8,000 MAC address table provides swift lookup and packet forwarding. The MIL-SM4004TG can be remotely managed via the web-based GUI, CLI and menu based commands via telnet or the DB-9 console port in addition to SNMP V1/2/3. The MIL-SEM24T4GPA is a managed Ethernet switch that has 20 10/100/1000Base-TX ports plus 4 10/100/1000Base-TX/Gigabit SFP combo ports. The MIL-SEM24T4GPA layer 2 managed Ethernet switch provides high performance non-blocking switching. Features of the MIL-SEM24T4GPA include port based and 802.1Q VLANS, IGMP V1/V2, spanning tree, rapid spanning tree, 10K Jumbo frame support and link aggregation control protocol (LACP). With Quality of Service (QoS) and Class of Service (CoS) the MIL-SEM24T4GPA insures minimum delay for voice over IP or multimedia networks. Non-blocking 48Gbps architecture assures rapid packet delivery. The MIL-SEM24T4GPA can be remotely managed via the web-based GUI, CLI via telnet or the DB-9 console port in addition to SNMP V1/2.
