A Brief Introduction

COLLEGE NAME

Glad Tidings Bible College was named by the founder of the school .Rev.

Ming-John Pan , and missionary Gloria Wine . The name “Glad Tidings” is adopted from Romans 10:15

OUR BELIEF

We believe in the Trinity and in the Old and New Testaments of The Bible as

God’s revelation.

GOAL

Devoid of denomination, Glad Tidings is devoted to cultivating those who are eager for the truth, who want to be pastors in order to preach the gospel so that people may be saved and born again – new creations. Furthermore, we desire to serve society, build up the country, and benefit the world.

COLLEGE MOTTO

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. (2 Timothy

2:15)

A New Vision

Principal W. S. Jung

Gen 12:1-3 - The Lord said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your fathers household and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” From this portion of scripture we can see this was not Abram’s own plan, goal or decision. The word to leave his own country, people, and family and go to a place he did not know in order to receive God’s blessing was a revelation which God Himself had given to Abram, and Abram through faith carried out God’s command. To someone who is serving God, it is extremely important to receive revelation and vision from Him, otherwise the tragedy may be that in the end we find we are doing something which is of ourselves and not the heart of God. When Jesus was on this earth, He did not do things of Himself, but did only what the Father wanted Him to do (John 5:19).

In November 2005, God clearly instructed me to establish Spiritual Research Institute. Not only was I to have high standards for students’ and worker’s characters, but I was to combine theology and the practical outworking of the Holy Spirit’s manifestation to train people.

After a few years, those who has been trained will be soldiers able to do spiritual warfare for the Lord.

The Lord knows my weaknesses, and in order to achieve this vision, God showed me three pastors who would work along side me and share the burden of this mission. I didn't have any specific contact with these three pastors before this, but they were all willing to assist.

Through this I have found that God’s work is marvelous and exciting. I know that there will be thorns and stones along the way; I hope that all the brethren and sisters who know about this vision will continue to pray in unity, until fully equipped workers are trained, to reach the lost before the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Birth of Spiritual Research Institute

Principal W. S. Jung

Over the past 10 years God has continually been doing a refining work in my life. It is difficult to express the suffering of being in the fire, but it has caused me to yearn for the Lord

Himself and His holiness. One day as I was drawing near to the Lord, I was overcome by sorrow and wept before Him as I thought of the injustice that I had experienced. I said

“Lord, if this suffering has been for nothing it is not worth it, and I am not willing to bear it.”

Soon the Lord comforted me and helped me to understand that His ways are not something that we ordinary earthly people can comprehend.

For about a year the Lord had constantly laid 1 Corinthians 2:4 on my heart , “ And my message and preaching were not of persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the

Spirit and of power.” I constantly pondered and meditated on these words in my heart. I also encouraged my co-workers to pray for more of the manifestation of the Holy Spirit’s work so that we would see more students turning to the Lord and laying their lives on the altar.

However, I was not satisfied with this alone. God continued to speak to me through His word and the fire continued to burn inside me. God put a Kingdom concept that transcends denominations in my heart. A burden for training workers was in me, and I was to train, nurture, and equip warriors.

Finally, at the beginning of November, I knew clearly that I was to establish a research institute after His heart. At the time I was extremely frightened as I thought of my own humbleness and weakness, and I was worried that I didn’t know how to start this holy work.

One Tuesday during fasting and prayer with my co-workers, I shared what God had told me.

I asked them to pray for the name of this research institute. I never imagined that on the next morning as I was seeking God that the Holy Spirit would clearly tell me that it was to be called “Spiritual Research Institute”. At the same time God revealed three other pastors to me whom He wants to use at the institute, and who will work with me. One by one I called them – Pastor Chou, Pastor Mo, and Pastor Chen – and explained in detail how God had spoken to me and led me. After praying they were also willing to respond to this call. One of them, Pastor Chou, was even willing to take on the responsibility of the institute’s director.

I then cautiously went about reporting in detail my vision for establishing a research institute to the 9 th

Chairman of the Glad Tidings Mission Society, Pastor Wang. In order to help

Pastor and Mrs. Wang have a clearer understanding of what I wanted to do, and so that they could communicate with the director, Pastor Chou, I invited them to have dinner with us at the preliminary meeting on December 18. Unfortunately, Mrs. Wang could not attend because of a previous engagement. Pastor Wang also rejoiced after hearing about the Institute which

God wants to establish. Slowly I began to convey this vision and the preparatory work to

3

our other trustees, pastors, both nationally and internationally, and previous missionaries, and most rejoiced with me, some even giving suggestions and advice. At the end of December when Pastor Chou returned to the United States to the CI headquarters, she took a letter of invitation from me to Dr. Bill Hamon asking him to be the superintendent of the institute. He gladly accepted. One day during an international call with Gloria Wine, one of the founders of Glad Tidings Bible College, I was telling her about Dr. Hamon’s willingness to be the superintendent of Spiritual Research Institute and she said, “He will indeed be a blessing to you.” I was even more encouraged, and I thanked God continually.

Here I also need to mention that by God’s grace and mercy, and His miraculous amazing ways, as if by an eastern wind in the night, He sent me 10 intercessors. From the beginning they have been praying for Spiritual Research Institute, and because of their faithfulness, the preparatory work has gone smoothly. I believe according to His will, by September 2006, we will have our first students. May the Lord be satisfied, and multitudes of warriors be equipped to do battle for the Lord at Spiritual Research Institute.

Preface by Bishop Bill Hamon

Over a decade ago, I received several prophecies confirming the Lord’s will for Christian

International (CI) to train a prophetic/apostolic army that will demonstrate His power and prepare the way for His return. Words can hardly express the joy in my heart in witnessing the manifestation of such prophecy in Taiwan before my very eyes as I accept the honor to be the

Superintendent of Spiritual Research Institute (SRI).

I am delighted to see the blessing of God in Taiwan connecting Dr. Yu-Chia Chou, the representative of CI in Taiwan with Dr. W S Jung, Principal of Glad Tidings Bible College.

The benefits offered by SRI will be quite unique. I believe the spiritual resources and training materials, available in CI, which have been proved to develop and train tens of thousands of mighty apostolic/prophetic saints in past years, will greatly assist Chinese students to be fully-equipped to know God, themselves, their ministry call and to enter their prophetic destiny.

Students will have a firm foundation in God’s Word through classroom instructions and practical hands-on ministry training experience for advancing their ministry gifts. As CI and

Dr. Chou’s bishop and apostolic overseer, I highly recommend SRI faculty and her to you.

She is fully knowledgeable in Chinese culture and anointed with healing and deliverance power. Students themselves will be delivered and healed as they proceed with their training.

Graduates from the Institute will have the added benefit of obtaining a Master’s Degree offered by Christian International School of Ministry via a standard certification procedure. I am so excited with this supernaturally birthed SRI that I plan to visit Taiwan in the near future;

I look forward to seeing you at the school soon!

5

Director of Spiritual Research Institute

Dr. Yu-Chia Chou

Seven years ago, after approval from CI, I returned to Taiwan to teach “Ministering Spiritual

Gifts” and “Restoring the Foundation” seminars. I discovered that Chinese Christians are in desperate need of multi-faceted deep healing and deliverance, but laborers in this field are extremely lacking. From the beginning of 2004, the Holy Spirit inspired me to stop such work and commence establishing a training school in Taichung. I had no idea where the location of this school should be in Taichung, but amazingly God has seen fit to put the same vision in the heart of Principal Jung. She knew in November 2005 that she should invite me to set up a

Spiritual Research Institute, so we managed to co-operate smoothly in the Lord.

Our goal is to raise up apostolic/prophetic saints, prophetic intercessors and deliverance workers. We want to equip Christians called by God with truth, holiness, Godly character, spiritual gifts and anointing, so that everyone will know their calling, mission and spiritual gifts and develop an intimate relationship with God and serve Him in accordance with His perfect will.

The goals of our curriculum are to let students have the best of both worlds: to learn and obtain healing and deliverance at the same time to study and have practical training side by side. Our ministry will place equal emphasis on truth and practical application. In order to cater to students with full time secular jobs, we will organize classes with healing, deliverance and practical training only on weekends. The rest of the week will be used for self-study at home with prescribed materials and DVD teachings, as well as submitting homework assignments. Graduates will have opportunities to be ordained by Bishop Hamon’s team.

6

Bishop Bill Hamon, ThB, ThM, D.D,

Bishop Hamon began pastoring in 1954 at the age of 19. During his 52 years of ministry he has functioned as a pastor for 6 years and a Bible College professor for 5 years. His major ministry has been establishing new ministries and demonstrating the ministry of Prophet and

Apostle. In 1967, Dr. Bill Hamon founded the Christian International School of Theology.

Currently headquartered in the Florida panhandle, the college has helped hundreds of churches start their own Bible College through CI extensions. We currently have over 65 active extension locations in this country and several on foreign soil.

During the past 37 years, CI has developed over 80 college quality courses in 9 different majors. In all, more than 9,000 students have been enrolled and more than 1000 have graduated. In 1995, CI began a resident Ministry Training College (CI-MTC) to teach & equip students in a practical and experiential way for the ministry.

In 1979, God challenged Dr. Hamon to establish and add the School of the Holy Spirit to the

CI ministry. This school serves as a classroom ministry to teach, train, and students to help them mature in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Classes are still held weekly on the CI campus.

In addition, special conference and seminars with emphasis on the Holy Spirit are held at our new Christian International Family Church and Training Center plus regional locations around the country to meet the demands. Many additional Schools of The Holy Spirit have been founded by ministers throughout the United States and in several nations of the world.

In 1991 Dr. Hamon finalized the Manual For Ministering Spiritual Gifts by which more than

250,000 saints have been trained and sent out to begin their Holy Spirit Ministries including

20,000 five-fold ministers.

Since CI's relocation from the West to the East Coast in 1984, Christian International has been conducting major Prophetic Seminars several times a year in Florida. Then in 1990 CI began hosting several seminars and conferences each year. More than 30,000 ministers and lay members from all 50 states and many foreign countries have attended these events. CI also has a home base local church pastored by Drs. Tom and Jane Hamon, with regularly scheduled services located on its Santa Rosa Beach campus. In 2006 CI’s 20 th

International

Gathering of Apostles and Prophets Conference will be held in October at CI International

Headquarters in Florida.

God impressed Dr. Hamon with the need for a Network of Prophetic/Apostolic Ministries.

This was introduced at CI's National Prophets Conference in October, 1987, and continues to expand in influence and favor. In 1992, Christian International Business Network (CIBN) and the Manual for Ministering Spiritual Gifts (CI-MSG) seminars were introduced nationally and internationally and the Christian International Apostolic Network (CIAN) was established in which Dr. Hamon currently oversees over 300 churches. Dr. Tim Hamon is the CEO of CI’s 5 major organizations. Dr. Bill Hamon is one of the Apostolic Council

Leaders within the International Coalition of Apostles (ICA) with C. Peter Wagner. Dr.

Hamon meets yearly as a major prophet with the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders.

Bishop Bill and Evelyn Hamon’s three married children are all ordained ministers with CIAN.

They serve as major leaders in the ministry and are three of the 50 ministers that serve as CI

Board of Governors
