The NCD of United Methodist Church Facility Technician
Purpose of Position
The Facility Technician is employed by The NCD of United Methodist Church to provide
oversight for building maintenance, open/close schedule, event coverage as necessary,
custodial duties and, as appropriate, technical support for facilities under management by the
North Coast District. This includes, but is not limited to, support at the Broadway facility.
Stipend:
Not to exceed $800/month
Scope of Work:
The Facilities Technician position is a stipend less than ½ FTE work arrangement. This
opportunity will require the incumbent to develop and maintain a work plan and submit a written
log of tasks completed at the Broadway facility and other NCD facilities each month. This
position reports to the NCD Associate.
Key Functions/Responsibilities for both facilities
1. Create and maintain records for building repairs.
a. Changing light bulbs; batteries
b. Restroom repairs
c. Tenant requests as necessary
d. Boiler maintenance schedule
e. Interior paint schedule
f. Carpet cleaning
2. Order Supplies based on inventory and requests
a. Design an inventory tracking system
b. Design a system for ordering supplies
c. Submit timely orders for supplies & stock primary storage area.
3. Check inventory for suitable resources for general yards and grounds upkeep
a. Snow shovels for winter walk way snow clearing
b. Salt for ice that accumulate at entry-way to facility
c. Tools for summer and spring yard work in between professional lawn care
schedule.
4. Create and help maintain a cleaning schedule for facilities.
a. Work in collaboration with Housekeeper at the Broadway facility
b. Insure that trash containers are sanitized on regular bases.
c. Insure that floors are clean (mopped/vacuumed/buffed)
d. Tabletops are clean and free of food
5. Oversee onsite contracted maintenance professionals
Minimum Qualifications
 Commitment to the mission and ministry of the NCD of the UMC
 Previous work experience/trade school equivalent/HS Graduate.
 Reliable transportation
 Reliable phone service
 General building maintenance skills.
 Capacity to oversee small jobs done onsite by outside contractors.
 Ability to work in a diverse team environment
 Ability to have a successful FBI/BCI background check.
