Coega Development Corporation Corporate Services TASK 17 000: SUB-TASK D: JOB DESCRIPTION: 1.0 Coega IDZ and Port Zone Development and Operations CDC CORPORATE MANAGEMENT CORPORATE SERVICES TALENT MANAGER/ CONSULTANT ACCOUNTABILITY The Talent Management Consultant is accountable to the Unit Head: Performance and Talent Management of the Coega Development Corporation (CDC). 2.0 MANDATE The Talent Management Consultant is mandated by the Executive Manager: Corporate Services to provide support to the Performance and Talent Management Unit to ensure that it delivers on its mandate and meets its organizational objectives. 3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS The primary responsibility of the Talent Management Consultant is essentially to assist the Unit Head with the execution of projects that focus on advancing talent priorities. The incumbent will work closely with the Performance and Talent Management Office and partner with the Organization to execute the CDC’s objectives. Develop effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; Serve as a key contact for support and guidance on talent management issues, projects and services and in the documentation and management of talent data; Implement career pathing and talent development initiatives; Consult with BUs on talent needs and align to organisational strategy goals and objectives; Drive process improvement and contribute to talent leading practices for continuous enhancement of the Internship programme and talent development initiatives; Ensure effective and optimal utilisation of all talent management systems; Work with the Unit Head: Performance and Talent Management to ensure optimum business experience and satisfaction; CDC-OP-FOM-080-12 1/2 Rev 0 13/10/2014 Coega Development Corporation Corporate Services Coega IDZ and Port Zone Development and Operations Work closely with the Unit Head and partner with Business Units/Programmes to support execution and integration of change management plans on all human capital development and talent initiatives; Furthermore, you are to ensure that: You are aware of and have access to the CDC’s SHEMS; You are aware of your responsibilities and duties as laid out in the CDC’s SHEMS; You are aware that you work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner; You ensure that the company’s housekeeping standards are maintained throughout your area of responsibility; You report any unsafe conditions or acts which you cannot rectify yourself to your SHE representative or to the Senior SHE Project Manager as soon as possible; You report all SHE incidents which occur within your area of responsibility promptly and in the correct format; You are totally familiar with your responsibilities in terms of the CDC’s emergency plan; You communicate to the Senior SHE Project Manager any required changes to the SHEMS prior to implementing these changes; You timeously complete and correctly record any corrective action which needs to be taken in order to rectify a SHE matter; You give full co-operation to, and participate in (as required), the CDC’s internal and external SHEMS audits. You have the authority to: 4.0 Immediately stop any person(s) on CDC property from committing an unsafe or destructive act or omission; Take whatever immediate steps you deem necessary to prevent injury or environmental damage when confronted with an unsafe or destructive condition. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Human Resources Management Post Graduate qualification in HR will be an added advantage; Minimum 5 years working experience in an HR, preferably corporate environment In-depth Knowledge and experience in working with Graduate programmes Proficient with the MS Suite e.g. PowerPoint, Excel; Must have strong communication skills and good all-round interpersonal skills; Solid stakeholder management Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure Ability to identify and solve problems; Good coordination skills; Strong administrative skills.
