KIMBER CLASSIC TRIAL - APRIL 18th 2009 Final instructions and Route Book. 1. To find your start time due at each section, add your number in minutes to the time shown at each location. 2. Carry straight on at all junctions, ignoring all turnings to right and left, unless otherwise stated. 3. Route markings may be used in a few places : Red or R = Turn right Blue or L = Turn left : White or SO = Straight on : Red Arrows Other abbreviations used in the route instructions are X = Cross roads T = T Junction : SP = Sign post : LHS/RHS = Left/Right hand side. 4. Instructions for the Special Tests and Restarts are at the end of the route pages. 5. N.B. As in previous years this event has been designed to be NON-DAMAGING. In order to achieve this you are strongly advised to drive slowly and carefully on tracks to and from sections. With the exception of Section 7 Alham Splash you may only view from the ‘Section Starts, line to ascertain the best route through the section. At all times off road drive slowly and look carefully ahead of you so as to avoid any potholes or ruts. Where there are clear wheel tracks lower than the centre of the track you will usually find the best course is to drive with one wheel in a track and the other in the centre. This will prevent you from 'bottoming out'. Above all remember that this IS NOT a speed event so there is no need to drive fast other than on the Special Tests. RESULTS. * Results will be decided according to the marks lost system : 6 marks being lost for the failure of a section. * Failure on a Special Test, as well as incurring a 6 point loss, will also incur a time equal to the worst in class + 10 sec's. * * The sub-divided Section 1 incurs 0-12 marks lost depending on the point of failure. * If there is still a tie the result will be determined in favour of the car with the In the event of a tie the best aggregate time on Special Tests 1 & 2will count. If the tie is still unresolved the best time at Special Test 3 - ALHAM SPLASH will count. smaller engine capacity. RESTARTS : You will be require to stop astride Line A.
