To get full credit, you will need to have
completely colored and labeled ONE of the
frontal face diagrams, ONE of the lateral face
diagrams and ONE of the full body diagrams.
The others are for practice.

held responsible on the Skeletal System test
is available on this unit’s power point, which
is available for download on Instruction.

Finish up Body Atlas Worksheet to show me
tomorrow. Also, read pages 114-119 in Chapter
6. Answer the following questions:
1. What are the functions of the skeletal
system?
2. What are the four types of bone, based
on their shape?
List two reasons why cancellous bone is found
at the ends of long bones?
This is a long unit (41 pages), so you need to
pace yourself to get through it. For this week,
your focus should be on pages 114-119, and
126-144. Figure 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4 on pages 117119 are vital to understanding general bone
structure.

With regard to anatomy, you will be held
responsible for Figures 6.10, 6.11, 6.12 & 6.17
on pages 126-128, 132. This is covered on
pages 124-144. You will note, however, that
there are many more terms contained in these
20 pages than what we will cover in class. You
can skim through these pages and study the
diagrams to help your understanding of the
bones, but we will not be tested on much of this
information. We will sift through the other
anatomical terms found on pages 126-144 as we
study the chapter together. Study for
Anatomical Jeopardy tomorrow. Remember,
you get homework points for answering
jeopardy questions tomorrow!!!
