Aims
to explore the distinctive vision for a University that grows from our
Christian foundation
to learn from one others’ successes and good practice
to support one another in the contemporary expression and delivery of
our values and mission

1:30-2:00 Main session 2 - ‘Church-founded HEIs: impact on students’ (AHRC/ESRC findings)
2:00-3:00 Workshop 2 - Identity into action
a) How might we embed and express our foundation and mission more effectively? How
might our foundation be contemporised and transformative? (NB Could form sub-groups if
sufficient delegates with similar responsibilities)
b) External - How is a Church university best promoted? To whom and in what ways?
c) Collaboration – What can Christian universities do better together? How can we best
resource one another? (as institutions, and in our particular academic or professional
expertise)
d) Defending our core values – How do we best present Christian HEIs to government, to
media, to staff and governors
e) Transformation – How to build research priorities into HEIs with a heritage of teaching
excellence and professional development
