M-RCF repair patch
– environmentally friendly, reliable and a trend-setter
Poing, 19.11.2014: REMA TIP TOP, the world's leading manufacturer of tire repair systems, has again
focused its product development efforts on tire repair technology. One innovation is the M-RCF 400
patch series, shown to the industry for the first time at the Reifenmesse 2014 tire trade event. This
repair patch brings both ecological and economic advantages for the repair of car and truck tires. Of
especial interest is that the patch can be fitted without the need for additional solvent-containing
chemicals. The associated products needed for repair are also free of solvents. Full production of
these environmentally-friendly patches commenced in September and they are now available to
retreading operations and tire service specialists in the renowned REMA TIP TOP quality.
Repair patches are part of all basic workshop equipment sets since they can be used to repair many forms of
damage to tires. Solvent-free patches are only now, however, coming into general use. As the partner of
choice for repair workshops for many years, REMA TIP TOP is at the forefront in this field and has now
brought to market the M-RCF (M= Modular; R= Radial; CF= Cement Free) repair patch range, which can be
fitted without the use of the previously necessary solvent-containing chemicals. The solvent fumes,
extraction systems, workplace measurements and so on associated with fitting patches are now a thing of
the past. This is a major criterion for the choice of product by workshops, since in many markets these are
increasingly faced with tighter legislation. Damage can be quickly and easily repaired in a single-stage
vulcanization process (hot vulcanization of the patch) without cement having to be applied. A high degree of
efficiency in the repair process – as well as simplification of the work steps involved – means that up to 40%
of working time can be saved.
Product advantages of M-RCF repair patches at a glance
The range of patches is modular in design. The layers in the patch are pre-produced in a constant quality
and subsequently combined together in different ways. This reduces the number of differing types of patches
required by the customer to a minimum. In spite of this, all sizes of damage can be dealt with, while at the
same time warehousing stocks can be reduced. The M-RCF patches exhibit a high degree of bonding
strength with considerable reserves and can therefore cope with the often considerable stresses that tires
are exposed to. Since no solvents are used, no drying and wait times are necessary before fitting the patch.
This results in a reduction in costs and handling times. "Our M-RCF patches have been very much in
demand with our customers since their introduction at the Reifenmesse trade event in the Spring of 2014"

operators were carried out in a most satisfactory manner, thus confirming our own internal laboratory results.
Our customers have without exception given us a set of very good references for this product series and we
have already applied for a patent for our innovation."

products include the well-known RCF Fast Dry Buffer and the RCF Inner Liner Sealer. REMA TIP TOP, as a
