Deny inbounds pass When pass is made everyone yells “BALL” Dead ball press must have a center fielder Live ball press must have a safety Once ball is in keep it out of the middle and keep it in front of you “CORRAL” f. Everyone else is jumping to the ball g. If you see the back of the person dribbling “RUN & JUMP” h. Guy jumping, jumps and yells GO when the person picks up the dribbler i. The guy guarding the ball filters to the middle 13. BLOB Defense a. PRE-SWITCH when possible b. Guy guarding the ball is under the basket defending any pass that direction c. Screens away from the ball should be switched d. Screens toward the ball “fight thru” 14. SLOB Defense a. PRE-SWITCH when possible b. Guy guarding the ball is under the basket in help position (he can not leave until someone replaces him as help) c. Everyone else is denying, but not getting beat basket side. 15. Offense a. Triple threat b. Spacing 10-15 feet unless screening c. Raise fist when screening d. After you pass you have 4 options i. Basket-Cut ii. Corner-Cut iii. Screen Away iv. Ball Screen 16. Fast Break a. Spacing b. One post sprints to ball side post c. Other post stays behind ball for reversal d. Guards get wide and sprint the floor looking back for the ball 17. BLOB Offense a. Get to the spots quick and be ready b. If the defender guarding you is not seeing the ball, then the pass is coming to you. c. Action starts when the person inbounding the ball GRABS the ball from the official d. EXECUTE WE SHOULD GET EASY POINTS OFF INBOUNDS PLAYS 18. Free-throw Alignment and duties WE ARE SHOOTING a. (right handed shooter) person left of the shooter and closest to the rim tries to get across the lane and in front of the opposing teams low guy b. Person right of the shooter can fight middle or baseline side c. Other 2 player behind the shooter match up with the opposing players to prevent a long rebound 19. Free-throw Alignment and duties OPPOSING TEAM SHOOTING a. Best rebounders down low b. 2 players in the top spots on both side of the shooter c. The top player and the bottom player pinch the opposing teams best rebounder d. The other top guy is responsible for blocking out the shooter. e. The 2 players behind the shooter must block out the opposing player behind the shooter. 20. Substitutions a. Players take a towel and give the towel to the person they are subbing for (at this time players communicate assignments) b. Players exiting the game will jog off the court c. NO WALKING, NO THROWING THE TOWEL
