Kiki Bag is a company that specialises in the marketing
and sales of high quality paper, plastic and nonwoven
bags for promotions, product launches, exhibitions,
trade shows, corporate events, conferences, golf days sponsorship, boutiques, fashion houses, clothing labels
and chain stores.
Paper products and bags for the supermarket, grocery,
fast food, ice cream and related industries are catered
for specifically.
For industry, printing of paper and plastic film in reel to
reel form, polycoating and the lamination of various
products to paper is undertaken.
The Principal's manufacturing and distribution facilities are based near Durban in
Kwa-Zulu Natal and Cape Town in the Western Cape. Marketing and Sales offices
are located at Durban, South Africa and Surrey, England.
It is the intention of KIKI BAG to extend its marketing operations in Great Britain,
Ireland and Europe, strategically establishing new marketing, sales and distribution
facilities.
This is to be done together with local representation on a joint venture basis to service
and supply packaging users, and to encourage existing and new distributors to include
the KIKI BAG range of products in their catalogues.
KIKI BAG will also source and import the best available products where these are not
available in the customer's local market.
Company Profile
Kiki Bag's Principal's major manufacturing
facilities are situated in Durban and Cape Town.
The port of Durban, on the east coast of South
Africa was chosen to be the hub for the
international import and export operations. KIKI
BAG.uk was established in January 1997
primarily for the marketing of paper shopping
bags for the export market. This office and
future distribution facility is located in Surrey.
In August 1997 an office was opened in Durban
to facilitate better communications between our
present local and overseas customers and our
new prospective customers world wide.
The KIKI BAG facilities in Durban are situated in close proximity to SAPPI and
MONDI being the major paper manufacturers on the African continent. Both mills
manufacture Whitetop Liner board, unbleached Kraft Liner board, from 125 gsm to
400 gsm. In addition SAPPI produce 40 gsm to 100 gsm MF and MG plain and
narrow ribbed brown kraft paper, and various grades of extensible sack kraft for the
local and export markets. MONDI also produce 70 to 120 gsm MF pure white
bleached kraft.
The bag manufacturing facility in Cape Town moved to larger premises in February
1997, increasing the availability of their production area. The product range was
expanded to include the manufacture of flat notion and gusseted millinery bags, plain
and printed, in brown and white kraft paper, self opening square grocery bags from 1
lb to 35 lb including supermarket check out sacks and 1/2 lb to 3 lb greaseproof flat
bags and greaseproof lined 2 ply bags are a speciality with a 3 colour print for the fast
food market.
In 1996 a market research programme was conducted to establish the demand and
need for a new bag with the internationally accepted paper and flat paper tape cord
handles, in order to manufacture a 100% BIODEGRADABLE RECYCLABLE and
environmentally friendly paper shopping bag with the use of environmentally friendly
RENEWABLE RESOURCE raw materials to meet the growing world conservation
needs and world market demands.

DESIGNER - Soft Rope Handle
Machine made bag or a hand made bag for the
Promotional buyer for that special product launch. All bags
need to be hand finished, fitting your specifically chosen
textile 5mm cord handle, with utmost care. Tops are folded
(45mm) over for that extra refined finish and added
strength to the pre inserted and punched reinforcement
board. Cord handle ends are tied together at each pair of
reinforced punched holes so cord knots are unable to pull
through punched holes. cord lengths, 400 mm / 900 mm.
Special colours of your choice. Standard colours are
available for short production quantity runs.
EXCLUSIVE - Semi-Rigid Rope Handle
The new exclusive handle developed as a fully automated
machine made shopping bag inclusive of the handle
manufacture and fitting. A new innovation with today's
modern textile materials and machinery. This new semi
rigid handle with 4.5 mm textile cord is fitted to the inside
face of the bag with a loop protrusion of 90 mm to 135
mm. As for the "designer" soft rope handle special colours
are available to tone with your particular fashion colour for
the longer production run. Standard colours are available
for short production runs.
DEBUT - Paper Twist Cord Handle
This user friendly, biodegradable and fully recyclable paper
shopping bag is completely constructed from renewable
resource raw materials which have a minimal effect on the
environment. When it comes to carrier bags for everyday
shopping, strength and price are usually the most important
factors. We therefore place stringent demands on the paper
to be used for the shopping bags. In addition the
internationally accepted paper twist paper handle is
automatically attached on the bag forming machine. Handle
loop protrusion of 90 mm to 135 mm.
ELITE - Cut Out Kidney Handle
This simple paper shopping bag with the well known
kidney cut out handle is selected for its rigid upright shape
and "no" design distortion when it "walks down the street"
with your message of a quality product. This marketing tool
