Objectives: Within the 3 week programme year-6 pupils will: have had the opportunity to look at school life and the differences in secondary school, have had the opportunity to ask questions (to peer-tutors and teachers) which concern them an opportunity to look at their own learning (multiple intelligences). have the opportunity to meet peers from other schools who will be joining them in September (socially and in activities) experience being an on-line learner within My Classes (visiting and contributing to the on-line classroom discussion for a minimum of 3 times a week ). This learning will generalise to school life as BGfL and My Classes becomes more a part of teaching and learning in schools. Order Activity Week 1 activities. School Life Activity 1: How far do you have to travel to school? We want you to find out how far it is from your home to the new school. To do this you first have to find the post code of your new school. Try and do a least three questions using the Quiz Creator and then save it on a floppy disk or somewhere suitable. You now need to follow the instructions below so that other people can see your quiz. 1.Go to the Home Pages button and click on Page Uploader. 2. Now go to the top Browse button and search for your Quiz File. If you have saved it on the floppy disk you might need to go to the Look in : box and click on the downward arrow. Week 3: Practicalities Activity 1: How do I find my way around the school? You will have a timetable in your new school and will have to move around between lessons to get to each teacher/class. In the Download section you will find an example timetable and a map of the school Download these and print them off.
