Squadron Routine Orders are issued under the authority of the Commanding Officer and are effective upon receipt. 2. The purpose of the Routine Orders are to supplement the information that is readily available online, and passed on through weekly messages regarding training, weekend activities and general information. It is the responsibility of every member of the Squadron to read and comply with the Orders. 3. The Routine Orders will be distributed once a month, on the Commanding Officer’s parade, (first Thursday of the month), or on any other date as authorized by the Commanding Officer. Administration 4. A Verification Audit is underway of Cadet administrative files. Cadet Personal Information Validation forms are in the process of being distributed which must be reviewed by parents/guardians to ensure our files are both current and valid. As the new database is integral to the compilation of forthcoming cadet camp application forms, your earliest compliance would be greatly appreciated. 5. All cadets shall review and familiarize themselves with the 742 National Capital Squadron Standing Orders. They will be posted online on the Squadron's website and there will also be a copy in the Office. Cadets can request a copy from their immediate superior or Flight Commander if they do not have access to one. Cadet shall ensure that the administration office is informed of any changes to address, new health cards or other changes or updates in status of personal information. b. If you can't make it to a training night or an activity for which you signed up, it is your responsibility to leave a message on the SQN voicemail at 613-737-3380 or send an email to attendance@742aircadets.ca 6. To improve the way signup lists are coordinated, we have set up a new process. When you see an event on the training calendar that you would like to sign up for, instead of writing your names on a piece of paper, you now just need to send an e-mail to: signup@742aircadets.ca If you don't have access to email, please notify the officer in charge of the planned activity. Supply 7. Dress of the month is as follows: a. Officers: 3 for CO’s parade and 3C for regular training nights b. Cadets: C-1 for CO’s parade and C-2 for regular training nights Cadets in civilian attire shall wear: Black dress pants, White Shirt w/Collar, and dress shoes. Hair must be to standard. c. CI’s & Volunteers: Semi formal / business casual dress d. Winter dress is in effect. 8. Cadets are encouraged to request new uniform parts before they grow out of them or wear them out. 9. All cadets who are missing uniform parts or have not yet been measured are required to report to Supply. On Thursday Parade nights, all cadets must be departed by 9:45 pm. Similarly, on Sunday afternoons, all cadets must be departed by 4:45 pm, without exception. 12. Apart from regular training, we will participate in various weekend activities. Details for these activities and dates can be found on the squadron website. a. Sunday training for General Ground School; Scholarship Ground School, Drill Team, Band and Biathlon Team start again on 9 Jan 2011; b. 10 Jan 2011 – An instructors night will be hosted from 6:00 pm until 9:30 pm at the Constitution Building, 305 Rideau St, Ottawa; c. 15 Jan 2011 – A mandatory Element Training Day for all Level 1 cadets in the National Capital Area will be hosted at a site to be announced; (Be advised that we are awaiting for official notice of the new date closer to end of Jan. Info will be in the calendar.) d. 22 Jan 2011 – An all day team competition will be hosted at Polyvalente Le Carrefour, 50 Chemin Savane, Gatineau for cadet teams participating in Kinball, Dodgeball and Fitness testing. The event will run from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm; and e. 29/30 Jan – Zone Biathlon Competition (More details forthcoming for team members). 13.
