Biology Final Exam Concept Map Create a concept map composed of terms from the four units we have o Characteristics of Life o Classification o Biochemistry o Genetics o Molecular (DNA) studied this semester: o Cells/Transport o Photosynthesis & Cellular respiration o Cellular division o Body systems The goal is to CLEARLY relate the concepts of each unit to the overall theme of the unit and to other units. It’s about making connections!! This can be done on the computer, poster board, or combination. Requirements: 1. Begin with the units in bubbles. You must select at LEAST 5 units. Make these look distinctive from the other bubbles. Below I have put them in bold and underlined them. For example: Charact. Of Life Genetics Molecular Classification 2. Choose at least 4 terms from each unit to include in the map. Terms can be found on your written test review sheet, former tests, notes, etc. 3. Connect each of the 4 terms to the unit bubble. This may be directly connected to the unit bubble, or may more likely be connected though connecting concept bubble(s) (as seen below). Group similar terms together, so that the map begins to branch like a tree. unicellular Charact. Of Life cells multicellular 4. Write the relationships between terms on the lines that connect them. unicellular are Charact. Of life cells composed of multicellular 5. Color-code your map that the bubbles with terms from each unit have their OWN color. Connecting lines do not need to be colored. Multiple colored bubbles surround the terms that overlap between units. 6. In addition to connecting terms to their unit, connect each term to a bubble in another unit… unicellular are Charct. Living Of Life things cells composed of multicellular Protists, fungi, plants, animals Classification 7. The more clear and descriptive connections within and across units, the better your map!
