Clinton High School will hold its annual Who's Who Beauty and Beau pageant Saturday, January 11 at 7:30
p.m. in the CHS auditorium. Tickets will be sold before the pageant beginning at 6:45 p.m.with doors opening
at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $7 each.
Students who received a Who's Who letter during the break are reminded to come by Ms. Tompkins's room
(W211) on Thursday or Friday to pick up your complimentary ticket for the Who's Who Beauty and Beau
pageant.
ANCHOR CLUB: If you are interested in buying an Anchor Club t-shirt, see Mrs. Berry or one of the Anchor
officers. Shirts are $10, and you can choose from two designs thanks to Khoula Saleem and Carly Melton!
CHS Parents - The CHS PTO has fallen far short of our goal for participation in our membership drive and
Unfundraiser. If you have not joined the PTO or made your Unfundraiser donation, please consider helping us
by sending a $30 check to the school made out to CHS PTO. Please place the check in an envelope marked
CHS PTO. Your membership dues of $5 and your $25 Unfundraiser donation will be used to support PTO
events through the rest of the year. Thanks!
ART CLUB will meet on Wednesday January 15 during homeroom in Mrs.Collins' room (E102). Attendance is
mandatory!
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL CAMP-Interested in gaining skills to play volleyball? Basic skills camp will be held Feb. 15 1:00-5:30
pm @ the CHS gym. Camp cost is 40$ which includes a Tshirt. Grades 4th through 11th are welcome to come. You do not
have to have any previous skills to attend. Forms will be in the front office and in Coach Denson's room in E214. Turn
forms into Coach Denson.
8. ART CLUB OFFICERS will need to meet THIS Wednesday (Jan 8th) during homeroom to discuss the
upcoming meeting.
9. ANCHOR CLUB: There are several service projects posted outside Mrs. Berry's room. Stop by if you still
need your service credit for this semester!
10. If it is raining outside when you arrive to school, students may report to the cafeteria. Students must be
working on class work while they are in the cafeteria.
GUIDANCE OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
We are having our “Be a Student For a Day” days coming up in January and February! It is a great way for high school
seniors to find out what it is like to be a real Delta State student. Seniors will choose one of our student days, which are
listed below, to visit Delta State for a fun-filled day with real-time class experience, Q&A sessions, a campus tour, a
campus tour, lunch in the cafeteria and student panels. Plus, we’ll give them a Fear the Okra t-shirt! It is going to be a
great time!

The Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians Foundation 2014 David G. Hall, M.D. Memorial Scholarship Essay
Entry: The Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians Foundation will award up to $3,500 to seniors across Mississippi who
are interested in pursuing a career in the field of medicine. Each student that meets the criteria should submit to their
counselor an application, along with his/her 500-word essay titled, “The Family Physician: Providing Your Medical Home”.
The essay should “Describe the impact of a Family Physician in your life or the life of your family and/or the role of the
Family Physician in your community. In what ways do Family Physicians strengthen the various aspects of the community?”

office. Deadline for essay submissions is January 15, 2014.

Seniors remember to fill out the FASFA form/application online at: www.fasfa.ed.gov. Priority deadlines for
financial aid at universities in Mississippi most often fall between March 1 and April 1, so meeting the
early deadlines ensures that students have access to the most financial aid.
Holmes Community College will be sponsoring Christmas on Ice in Madison, on Wednesday, January 4th. We hope that you
and your students will join us for a night of fun. We will entertained by concerts from our choral groups. We will have
several scholarships giveaways and much more.

Tupelo Elvis Fan Club Scholarship: ($5,000-1st place, $2,000-1stAlternate, $1,000-2nd Alternate) for three musically

Exceptional student leaders are invited to apply for the 2014 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program. In
honor of the legacy and character of President Ronald Reagan, this program annually rewards up to 20 collegebound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with $10,000 renewable
scholarships (up to $40,000 per recipient). Applications for the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program will be
