You will be using this sheet to help you register for the website for your textbook and join my online class.
Follow the directions below and fill in the necessary spaces so you do not forget your information.
Website Registration Instructions















Go to the website: www.phschool.com/access
Enter the first 6 letters of the access code: SSNAST
Click on Enter Code
Go to the link covered titles
Go to the link Science
Click on Campbell, Biology 9e AP* Edition MasteringBiology
Click on Student Registration
Click I Accept at the end of the page once you have read the notice.
Click on No at the top of the page.
Create your own personal login name and password
Scroll down and enter the access code: SSNAST-DROLL-BOUND-MEDAN-HAUNT-CAIRD
Click on Next
Complete personal information.
Enter school country and school zip code: 80237 and then click Next
Fill out school information
-School name = other
- Other School Name= Thomas Jefferson High School
- School City= Denver
-School State= CO
 Choose a security question from the pull-down menu and fill in your answer; click Next
 Once your login name and password have been accepted print the Confirmation and Summary page for
your records. You will also receive an email confirming your registration. (Remember: you only
register ONCE; every time you log in hereafter, use the personal login/password you just created).
 Click Log In Now
IF YOU RECEIVE AN ERROR MESSAGE FOLLOW THE DIRECTION BELOW. IF YOU DO
NOT GET AN ERROR MESSAGE SKIP TO “Join Your Online Course”
 Go to www.campbellbiology.com
 Click the book cover of Biology, 9/E-AP Edition
 Under Established Users enter the login name and password that you created during registration
 Click Login in to enter the Campbell Biology website
 At the top, right hand corner of the page you should see your name. Below your name you will see “Join
A Class”. Click on that link and follow the “Join Your Online Course” below.

Click Yes
Enter the following class ID: APSPARTAN2014, then click Continue.

From this point on BIG BROTHER is watching. Now that you are in the class I will be able to track what
assignments/activities/quizzes you do online. Technology is a wonderful thing. There will be numerous
activities/assignments/quizzes that we will do online. You will submit those to me for review. To get you
started exploring the website and getting comfortable with how to submit activities online you will complete the
following investigation and submit it to me.

1. Concept 1.1: Themes help connect the concepts of Biology
-Click on “Activity: The levels of life card game.”
-Play the game and answer the question below.
List the hierarchy of life from highest level to the lowest level.
2. Concept 1.2: The Core Theme: Evolution accounts for the unity and diversity of life
- Click on “Video: Galapagos Island overview”
- Play the video and answer the question below.
What is the name of the largest island of the Galapagos?
3. Scroll down to the bottom and click on “self-quiz”
- Take the quiz and when you are done click “submit answers for grading”
- Do the best that you can, this is not going to be a real grade.
- Note at the bottom you are given the correct answers after you have submitted the quiz.

4. Click on “Chapter Guide” at the top of the left side under “Study Area” to return to chapter 1
- Scroll down to the bottom again and click on “key terms”
