Are you interested in broadening your resume and earn credits for school, where applicable? If so, come join the staff at the Outdoor Education Center of For Love of Children this school year! The Outdoor Education Center (OEC) is seeking a qualified individual to help get the word out about what we do and to help develop future business within the region. As the Business Development Intern, you will have the opportunity, alongside our Director, to create and implement a grass roots marketing strategy, connect with local business leaders and gain valuable work experience and contacts over the school year. Individual Responsibilities Alongside the Director, develop and implement a grass roots marketing strategy to drive new business to the OEC for adventure programming. Attend outreach events, such as Chamber of Commerce events, college fairs and other community events. Develop marketing collateral in conjunction with developed strategy. Cold call on perspective organizations for programming opportunities and partnership development. Attend staff meetings when available. Develop a contact database of potential organizations and individuals who may have interest in supporting the OEC, or in future programming. Work to spread the word about the Outdoor Education Center through social media, door to door introductions and other various outlets to reach the community. Work from your residence, with minimal visits to the OEC (if necessary). Assist with update on new website, blog and newsletter. Qualifications Pursuing, or hold a degree in Business, Parks and Recreation Management, Marketing, Design, or related field/equivalent Experience with teambuilding, ropes/challenge courses and adventure education a plus Experience with environmental education a plus Desire to work in the outdoor industry Sincere interest in environmental education Desire to help a small non-profit grow and gain valuable experience in doing so Benefits Can be applied towards college credit, if accepted by your institution Great work experience in a non-profit business A great way to develop contacts in the area and industry for future potentials To Apply Please email resume and cover letter, detailing relevant experience to Todd McKinney @ tmckinney@floc.org or call 304.725.0409.
