GS Newsletter 11/1/11 Good Morning Ladies, Sorry for the delay in this newsletter, I have been without power I'm sure like most of you. Hope everyone is surviving and just think its only November 1st hope this is not a sign of what our winter is going to be like! Here is all the new info for this newsletter: 1. Holiday Caroling Info: Mary Peters, Director of the Girl Scouts Dotted Half Notes with be doing Holiday singing at the Putnam Ridge Nursing Home on December 3rd at 2p.m., please arrive at 1:30. This event is for all Carmel GS troops. Following that performance will be caroling at Cornerstone Park in Carmel from 3:45-4:00 p.m. Mrs. Peters is inviting troops to come and practice the songs on November 6th from 3:00-4:30 p.m. at Rock Hill Camp in Cabin "C". 2. Kent Elementary School PTO is looking for volunteers to run crafts and games at their annual Fall Fun Fest Saturday, November 5 from 11a.m. till 3p.m. Older Girl Scouts can fulfill their community service hours. Contact Christine Faudar at bandcfaudar@optonline.net 3. Girl Scout Square Dance is open to ALL Girl Scouts. Taking place on November 6th at Casade Farm. Flyer is attached. 4. Clearpool is offering Girl Scout Programs, please see the attached flyer. There are two more programs being offered in November and December. 5. Carmel GS would like to have a "Bring and Take" table tomorrow at the leaders meeting. Please bring any craft supplies your troop might have that they no longer use that another troop may be able to use. Paper, markers, crayons, baskets, fabric, ribbons, beads and yarn just to name a few. 6. Veteran's Day Event: Liz Smith is organizing a Baked Goods drive to donate to the VFW in Carmel on Veteran's Day. The ceremony is 11:00 a.m. and refreshments follow. Any interested troops may attend and possibly sing. Please contact Liz Smith at lizsmith85@hotmail.com 7. New Bank Account Requirements: Attached is the treasurer document regarding the TD Bank accounts Leonore referenced at the meeting. If you are a new troop starting 10/1/11 all Girl Scout bank accounts must be opened at TD Bank. For all troops who already have accounts you will be required to change over to TD Bank by 9/30/12. Trips, trips, trips workshop date has been moved to Nov 4th, so if anyone wants to join they can let Rita know - she will contact those that were signed up for the 28th. 12. Recruitment If you took an index card with a girls name on it for placement in your troop from Jessica Love, please make sure that you follow-up with her as to the status of the girl. Info regarding Craft Fair: Just to quickly go over some points Leonore spoke of regarding the craft fair: There was a sign up sheet for what type of table your troop will be running. Please see Leonore at the next meeting or email her at wc1lg@aol.com. (3rd grade Brownie troops and up will be running a game table or a take and make craft table) There will be a sign up sheet for set-up times for that Friday night 11/18 between 5 and 7:30p.m. Daisy Troops: You are required to make 1 gift basket and 1 baked good item. Daisy troops will be singing at 12:30 p.m 2nd Grade Brownies are invited to sing as well. 3rd grade Brownies, Junior and Cadet Troops: You are required to make 1 gift basket and 1 craft (1 craft from each girl so if you have 10 girls you will make 10 crafts) OR 2 crafts and no gift basket ( so again if you have 10 girls you would make 20 crafts). Also are required to donate 1 baked good. Senior Troops: You will be working the craft fair and are required to bring 2 cases of water along with 2 crafts per girl or 1 craft and a gift basket and a baked good.
