Fulton-Montgomery Community College Enhances Online Teaching and Learning Experience with ANGEL Adoption Indianapolis, IN – January 29, 2009 – ANGEL Learning, a leading provider of enterprise eLearning software and services, today announced that Fulton-Montgomery Community College (FMCC), one of the 64 colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system, the nation’s largest system of public higher education, has adopted the ANGEL Learning Management Suite (LMS) under the SUNY Master Agreement with ANGEL Learning. The FMCC adoption of the ANGEL LMS provides faculty new and improved functionality for teaching online classes, streamlines online class registration, and will enhance communication across FMCC. When the ANGEL LMS is fully implemented in late January, the online teaching and learning experience for FMCC students and faculty will improve according to Greg Truckenmiller, dean of Arts and Science, Fulton-Montgomery Community College. “Our faculty is excited about the features available in ANGEL, the integrated gradebook, ANGEL’s HTML editor, rich math capabilities, and the ease of navigating and organizing their courses,” said Truckenmiller. FMCC’s integration of the ANGEL LMS with the college’s Student Information System will benefit students in online classes. “Registration for online students is simpler with ANGEL, and students will have immediate access to their courses,” Truckenmiller continued. Going forward FMCC plans to enhance communication with ANGEL. “Another exciting aspect of our ANGEL adoption is the ability ANGEL gives us to communicate with all students,” Truckenmiller stated. “We plan to use ANGEL as a part of our emergency communication plan. Students access ANGEL on a regular basis, so we can put vital information in ANGEL and be sure students see that information.” This use of ANGEL outside the classroom will enhance communication both on campus and among the significant population of international students who take FMCC courses online when they return home for the summer. “It’s always exciting when a college extends its use of the ANGEL LMS beyond the classroom. FMCC’s creative use of ANGEL functionality will allow the college to receive even greater value from its ANGEL adoption,” said Christopher Clapp, ANGEL Learning president and CEO. “ANGEL Learning is pleased to welcome Fulton-Montgomery Community College to the quickly growing ANGEL community.” Fulton-Montgomery Community College is dedicated to providing students an excellent two-year education in an environment that nurtures success. Located on 195 acres in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in Johnstown, NY, FMCC offers more than 45 academic degree and certificate programs in traditional settings and an online environment that enables higher education and lifelong learning on a schedule that accommodates the competing demands of work and family.
