Chick-fil-A, Inc. A Tradition of Excellence Chick-fil-A has earned some of the most prestigious awards and recognitions in the quickservice industry. These recognitions have been presented to Chick-fil-A in honor of its commitment to serving consistent quality menu offerings as well as the chain’s promise to deliver a positive dining experience. Following is a list of recent recognitions Chick-fil-A has received: 2013 Temkin Experience Ratings Chick-fil-A ranked third in The Temkin Group’s report on brands with the best customer service experience. Out of 246 companies across 19 industries, 10,000 consumers rated their recent experiences in three areas; functional, accessible and emotional. Chick-fil-A was among the top 12 companies for all three ratings and the top fast-food brand. 2012 Consumer Picks “Top Limited-Service Restaurants” (Chicken Category) The second annual Nation’s Restaurant News Consumer Picks survey reveals how diners feel and canvassed more than 6,800 customers to evaluate 152 restaurants in the limited-service, casual-, fine- and family dining restaurant segments. 2012 Forbes “Inspiring Company” Chick-fil-A was ranked as the 7th most inspiring company in the country following a survey of more than 2,000 consumers evaluating 25 companies. 2012 Technomic Chick-fil-A is the only chain out of 52 measured to rank in the top five of all six key categories measured by the research firm’s 2012 Customer Restaurant Brand Metrics study which polled 38,000 consumers in the categories they said matter most – food, cleanliness, service, value, beverage and atmosphere. 2012 Men’s Health “Eat This Not That” Chick-fil-A once again received high marks (A-) and was named one of top three fastfood chains for healthier menu options in Men’s Health “Eat This, Not That” guide. QSR Magazine “Drive-Thru” After Chick-fil-A topped the magazine’s Drive-Thru Performance Study six of the first 12 years, it was selected as one of five “benchmarking” chains, along with a rotating regional chain, measured each year as a standard for the industry. The chain’s domination of the rankings continued in 2012 with top or high marks in order accuracy, drive-thru times and friendly customer service. 2011 Consumer Reports “Nation’s Top Chicken Chain” The Quick Service Restaurant Survey of 36,000 readers rates seven other chicken chains across the country. Chick-fil-A posted outstanding scores for politeness of staff, and high marks for food, value and speed of service. -more- 2011 Zagat’s Fast Food Survey’s “Top Large Chain” The National Fast Food Survey of 6,000 customers ranked Chick-fil-A first in service and the chargrilled sandwich category. Chick-fil-A ranked second in food, child-friendly, drive-thru service and facilities. 2010 Advertising Age “Marketer of the Year 2010” Runner-Up The “Marketer of the Year” award evaluated six companies that made a mark in 2010, including Chick-fil-A, Apple, Domino’s, Ford Motors, PepsiCo and Southwest Airlines. Chick-fil-A was selected as one of five runners-up for its steady growth and successful 15-year “Eat Mor Chikin®” marketing campaign. 2010 Zagat Fast Food Survey’s “Best Value” and “Best Milkshakes” The Fast Food Survey rates 136 quick service restaurant chains based on over 6,000 diners’ experiences across the country. Chick-fil-A was rated fifth in the category of “Best Value” and was one of five recognized for “Best Milkshakes.” 2010 J.D. Power and Associates Restaurant Satisfaction Study “Top Restaurant Brands in Customer Satisfaction” The Restaurant Satisfaction Study rated over 100 casual dining, family dining and quick service restaurant chains in the area of customer service. Over 93,000 diners were surveyed. Chick-fil-A received the top rating in the quick service restaurant category in Atlanta, Houston and Washington, D.C. 2009 Restaurants & Institutions’ “Choice in Chains” Customer Satisfaction Award (Chicken Category) The “Choice in Chains” awards are presented as a result of a national survey of consumers from across the country who are asked to rate their favorite restaurants by food category. Chick-fil-A has received this prestigious award 15 of the past 16 years. 2009 American Marketing Association’s Silver EFFIE Award (Sustained Success Category) The Silver EFFIE award was presented to Chick-fil-A for sustained creativity and effectiveness in advertising for the chain’s “Eat Mor Chikin®” Cow campaign. 2009 QSR “Best Drive-Thru” In its 2009 Best Drive-Thru in America Survey, QSR ranked Chick-fil-A first overall for the third year in a row. 2008 Men’s Health “Healthiest Restaurants for Kids” Men’s Health recognized Chick-fil-A as America’s Healthiest Chain Restaurant for Kids. 2008 QSR “Best Drive-Thru” 2008 U.S. City Challenge After challenging local corporations to an eight-week fitness challenge, Chick-fil-A was named Most Fit Overall in this inaugural competition -more- 2008 BusinessWeek/J.D. Power “Customer Service Champs” Using data compiled by consumer researcher J.D. Power & Associates, BusinessWeek in March 2008 released its ranking of the best-in-class companies in the area of customer service. Chick-fil-A ranked 22nd overall and was one of only two restaurant concepts listed (with Starbucks). The company received high marks for putting a premium on service and for promoting a “family dynamic” (including its “Closed on Sunday” policy). 2008 Kaiser Permanente “Most Fit Company in Atlanta” Kaiser Permanente designed the “Most fit Company in Atlanta” application to promote health and fitness among metro-Atlanta companies and their employees. Chick-fil-A earned the designation “Most Fit Company in Atlanta (100-999 employees)” five years running, following the inception of its own health and wellness program. 2008 Restaurants & Institutions’ “Choice in Chains” Customer Satisfaction Award (Chicken Category) 2007 Zagat/“Today Show” Fast-Food Survey In the 2007 survey – jointly conducted by Zagat and NBC’s “Today Show” – Chick-fil-A ranked first in overall service, as well as first in the chicken restaurant category. 2007 Restaurants & Institutions’ “Choice in Chains” Customer Satisfaction Award (Chicken Category) 2007 QSR Magazine “Best Drive-Thru In America” 2007 Men’s Fitness “Fit 15” Chick-fil-A was named by Men’s Fitness magazine in its assessment of the Fittest Companies in America – companies that were exemplary in their focus on employee health and wellness. 2007 Kaiser Permanente “Most Fit Company in Atlanta” 2007 Advertising Week “Madison Avenue Advertising Walk of Fame” The Chick-fil-A “Eat Mor Chikin®” Cows were recognized as one of America’s most popular advertising icons in a vote sponsored by Advertising Week and became the newest members of New York’s Madison Avenue Advertising Walk of Fame. 2006 Restaurants & Institutions’ “Choice in Chains” Customer Satisfaction Award (Chicken Category) 2006 OBIE Hall of Fame Award The Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) recognized Chick-fil-A and its renegade Cows with the organization's OBIE Hall of Fame Award. OAAA presents the award annually to brands that have displayed outstanding outdoor creative work over an extended period of time. 2005 Restaurants & Institutions’ “Choice in Chains” Customer Satisfaction Award (Chicken Category) -more- 2005 Sandelman & Associates Quick-Track “Award of Excellence” As a result of this independent study of 67,000 fast-food users in 57 markets, Chick-fil-A was the fourth-highest-ranked chain overall for customer satisfaction and the highestranked chicken restaurant chain in the nation.
