However, for a higher processing charge ($84), Year 12 students can still apply for all courses except those with a fixed closing date that has already passed (see page 4 of the QTAC Guide). If the course you are applying for has its major offer round on 13 December, the due date to apply and provide supporting documentation (e.g. Educational Access Scheme applications) is 3 December. For all other courses, applications received after 12 December and supporting documentation received after 17 December may not be assessed in time for the 17 January offer round. Changing preferences You can change preferences, delete preferences or add new preferences (except for courses with a fixed closing date) through the QTAC Current Applicant online service. The 10 January 2013 is the final date for Year 12s to change preferences for the 17 January offer round. You can change your preferences on three occasions for free. Further changes incur a fee of $17 each. Course changes There have been many course changes since the publication of the QTAC Guide. Applicants with a disability If you indicated on your QTAC application that you would like further information about the disability support services offered by the institutions to which you applied, 2 you will be provided with the ‘Applicants with Disability’ information sheet. This information sheet can also be downloaded at www.qtac.edu.au/InfoSheets/disabilityinformation.html. It is recommended that you make contact with the institution disability services staff before you commence your studies. Educational Access Scheme (EAS) applications If you indicated on your QTAC application that you intended to apply for EAS, it is important that you submit your EAS application (i.e. cover sheet and required supporting documents) to QTAC as soon as possible. See your Guidance Counsellor if you require assistance with your EAS application. Receiving your Year 12 results Year 12 students will receive their Senior Education Profile from the Queensland Studies Authority in the mail from Monday 17 December 2012. The Senior Education Profile will be made up of one or more of the following documents (depending on the student’s eligibility). Queensland Certificate of Education Tertiary Entrance Statement (OP and FPs) Senior Statement Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement. All results contributing to the Queensland Certificate of Education and OPs and FPs will be available in students’ learning accounts on the Student Connect website at https://studentconnect.qsa.qld.edu.au from 9 am on Saturday 15 December 2012. Students must know their Learner Unique Identifier (LUI) and password (originally the day and month of birth) to log in and check their results. Students will be able to access their results more quickly if they have previously accessed their learning account. 3 SCHOLARSHIPS Scholarship applications The application due date for many university scholarships is rapidly approaching. Students expecting to get an OP of 1-3 and have demonstrated leadership qualities should apply. COURSE AND INSTITUTION UPDATES Bond University Updates For all courses except medicine, you can apply for Bond courses through the university’s online application form at https://apply.bond.edu.au/. Students who have already applied for a scholarship to Bond are not required to complete an additional application form. Applications for UQ’s Enhanced Studies Program (ESP) for 2013 close on 31 October 2012. Year 10 students should note that UQ has included a mathematics prerequisite (Maths A or B) for its B Applied Science for entry in 2015. This change occurred after the QTAC Tertiary Prequisites 2015 booklet was published. The initial programs will be bachelor degrees in Commerce (Accounting), Justice and Legal Studies, and Business (Tourism, Leisure and Event Management). Echo Culinary Institute, in partnership with SBIT, is looking for students interested in participating in their pre-apprenticeship program, which involves class-based training as well as on-the-job work experience.
