FIERA MILANO: LEADER IN THE WORLD OF TRADE FAIRS AND ENGINE FOR THE ECONOMY ▪ ABOUT FIERA MILANO. Fiera Milano is one of the biggest exhibition companies in the world and the first in Europe for net surface of international fairs. It is also a leading congress operator and provides its clients with a complete range of specialist services in the following areas: ● organisation and venues for fairs in Italy and abroad; ● stand-fitting; ● media (online and offline content and publishing services, management courses, event organisation); ● congress management. The Gross Operating Margin was €3.3 million. The Group had 826 employees, 205 of them abroad. ▪ A FORMIDABLE TRADE FAIR COMPLEX. In the Milan hinterland, in Rho, Fiera Milano owns one of the largest, most modern and efficient exhibition districts. The complex is linked to the city by the underground and rail services and offers spaces and facilities of absolute excellence: 345,000 gross square metres under cover (plus a further 60,000 square metres outdoors), twenty pavilions Italy practically without internal columns, 74 meeting rooms of which 10 are in the Stella Polare Abroad convention centre, 84 eating places, 10,000 parking spaces for visitors and 5,000 for exhibitors and a modern 400-room hotel at the southern entrance to the fair. Thanks to the central position of Milan on the international network of land links and its proximity to the three airports Malpensa, Linate and Orio al Serio, Fiera Milano can easily be reached from anywhere in the world. In 2013 Fiera Milano hosted 54 exhibitions in Italy, part of them owned and directly organized (for instance HOMI, the lifestyle and interior decoration international exhibition; the leader exhibition in the professional hospitality Host; the food trade fair Tuttofood; the tourism exchange Bit. It also organised 59 exhibitions abroad. These shows are crucial business and internationalisation platforms and the ideal lower cost tools for reaching profiled targets and markets, that otherwise would call for heavy investment. Fiera Milano carries out an ever-growing large amount of its business outside Italy. It is present in China, Brazil, India, Russia, Turkey, South Africa, Singapore and Thailand. In these markets it organizes professional exhibitions in joint venture with the Hannover fair (in China and India) and through its subsidiaries Cipa Fiera Milano (Brazil), Fiera Milano Interteks (Turkey), Fiera Milano Exhibitions Africa (South Africa), WorldEx Fiera Milano (China), Fiera Milano Russia. Congresses are of primary importance for Fiera Milano and are managed by its subsidiary company Fiera Milano Congressi. Since 2011, Fiera Milano Congressi runs the congress centre MiCo – Milano Congressi, the most modern convention centre in Europe and the only one capable of hosting up to 18,000 delegates in an auditorium for 1,500 people, two plenary halls seating 4,000 and 2,000 people and around 70 modular rooms. Plus 54,000 square metres of exhibition space and 1,100 parking spaces. The MiCo has required a €64 million investment by Fondazione Fiera Milano and has been achieved by reconverting part of the no longer used exhibition space downtown. Fiera Milano Congressi can also count on the Stella Polare Convention Centre, in the heart of the Rho exhibition district (9 modular rooms with a capacity ranging from 81 to 728 and an elegant elliptic auditorium with seating for 1008 people, ideal not only for congresses and events, but also for fashion shows and concerts) and on the MoMec - Montecitorio Meeting Centre, executive business suite in the heart of Rome. Finally Fiera Milano Congressi manages the exhibition centre of Stresa, on the shore of Lake Maggiore. ▪ MEDIA COMPANY.
