INVITATION TO THE 3GPP RAN4#74 BIS MEETING

Dear Colleagues,
On behalf the meeting hosts – Keysight, Qualcomm and TIM Brasil, I am pleased to invite you to the
3GPP RAN4#74 BIS meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The meeting will be held at the Sheraton Rio Hotel and Resort. A block of rooms has been reserved at
the hotel under the name 3GPP. The discounted group room rate is $229 USD + taxes for single or
double occupancy in a Classic room and $247 USD + taxes for single or double occupancy in a Superior
room. The cut-off date for the hotel is March 13, 2015. This rate includes breakfast. Please read the
reservations section of the invitation carefully for more information regarding booking your room and
make note of the cancellation policy. Note that you may also need your Sheraton confirmation
number in order to apply for your visa. Please read the visa portion of the invitation thoroughly and be
sure to check with your local Embassy or Consulate where you will be applying, as each location varies,
even within a country.

Taxi/Shuttle:
The Sheraton Rio offers a private car service that may be booked through their concierge
concierge.rio@sheraton.com. Regular prices are R$260 (approximately $100.64 USD) for up to
3 people and R$312 (approximately $120.77 USD) for 4 people. A private car will be sent and
will have a clear sign upon guest arrival.
You may also look for a regular cab service (offered in the arrivals section of the airport) that
may cost approx. R$100 (approximately $38.70 USD). In general, prices are measured by
taximeters and may slightly vary. There are exceptions to the rule, though. Taxis leaving from
the Bus Terminal and the International Airport follow a pre-defined price chart (see link below).
Some taxi drivers may not speak English. It is recommended to have the address written on a
piece of paper when you get into a taxi.
When you get a taxi in Rio, whether you hail it or call a radio taxi, make sure the meter is zeroed
when you get into the car. You should only pay what the meter shows when you get to your
destination. But expect to pay more between 9pm and 6am, when the rate is the so-called
Bandeira 2, or Flag 2.
Taxis may not accept credit cards. It is recommended to check before you start your trip.

Reserving Seats in the Meeting Room:
