QUARTERLY REPORT JULY- SEPTEMBER 2010
( SAAKSHAR SCHOOL )
As the students returned from vacations they needed to be rejuvenated
to regain their lost confidence & interest back to studies.
Hence teachers started with activities to ensure both the attention & attendance of the
students.
A variety of songs & poems were
taught to the students through
repetitive sessions of the same. The
children thus learnt to open up &
enjoy learning as part of a group.
They also had hand-painting activity,
as their hands were dipped in paint &
then an impression of the same was
taken. Through this they developed
their sense of colour & motor skills.
They made impressions on outlines of a tree & a mango, learning about them at the
same time.
The children were made more aware of their environment by story telling sessions
depicting wild animals, fruits & vegetables. The teacher also showed them real fruits
& vegetables to improve their recognition.
The school had a young visitor who was
delighted to see the children perform &
recite poems with ease.
The children learnt making simple toys
from paper like masks & flowers.
They were introduced to music & rhythm
under the guidance of experts . The children
enjoyed singing with music.
The experts visited the Sakshar school from
the Centre of Cultural Research & Training
New Delhi in the closing week of July.
The children also had free drawing sessions
to bring out their creative & hidden talents
August was a month of festivities .
Independence Day was celebrated
with great vigour at our Saakshar
School.
As part of the celebration the children
made small flags and coloured them
and gained knowledge of its
importance.
The teachers helped the students to
enact various freedom fighters of our
country. They also presented a couple
of songs &dances to express their
happiness.
This developed a sense of pride and
happiness among the young children.
They also learnt imitation & enactment
through this activity.
Raksha Bandhan brought a great sense of excitement among children . With the help
& guidance of the teachers the children learnt to make simple rakhi’s from waste
material, like used cloth, bottle caps, used paper etc. which were then displayed on
the boards.
Another activity which helped the
children to express themselves freely was
colouring in the outlines of various
shapes.
The most enjoyed activity however
remained freeplay as the children got the
freedom to express themselves
independently .
Rains deeply affected the attendance to the school in September , as houses were
waterlogged, lanes were completely submerged in water. However school continued
its business as usual.
A number of activities were conducted
to enliven the children’s interest in
school.
Children dipped cut lady finger circles
in colour to make flowers Of the four
basic colours – Red, Yellow, Green,
Blue.
We celebrated the foundation day of our
institute on Sep. 3, 2010.The Vigyan
Vijay foundation completed 9 years of
its foundation .
