AQUA GOLF RISK ASSESSMENT

Hitting bay safety Features:

Safety nets to the left and right of each individual mat

Rear Fence and Gate to stop anyone walking in unexpectedly

A roof so you can hit in all weather conditions and which prevents anything landing in a mat area.

Cement in front of mats to make the golf balls roll into the water. This removes the incentive for people to walk in front of mats to pick up golf balls.

All bolts within the mat area have been cut down so nobody can trip on them.

RISK ASSESSMENT OF POTENTIAL

Two person are in a hitting bay at the same time

A golf club is thrown sideways or up.

Someone leans into an adjoining hitting bay.

Person may be hit by swinging golf clubs outside hitting bay.

Someone might be hit with a ball in front of hitting bays

PROBLEMS

A person may walk into a hitting bay whilst somebody else is hitting,

The gates swing inwards, blocking a persons clubs as they walk in.

There is a ‘safe’ gap area between where a person is hitting and the fence area behind them.

Warning stickers telling people only one person at time has been placed at each mat area.

Each person is told the safety rules before play.

Constant supervision by staff and person(s) responsible for group.

Protective netting on each side of the hitting bay.

There is a roof over each bay to stop falling from above.

Side nets tied form a barrier between hitting bays.

Customers only allowed to swing a club when inside hitting bay.

Supervision by Aqua Golf staff and person(s) responsible for group.

There is cement in front of the hitting bays, slopping downwards.

The angle of the cement is such that you can walk on it safely but golf balls roll into the water. This area is out of bounds.

The lights are in between each bay, out of everyone’s way.

The grass is kept near cement level, reducing the risk of a fall.

The bolt studs have been cut back to a minimum possible height.

Duty Manager’s at Panthers are highly trained in first aid.

Armed hold-up Cash regularly removed from premises. Highly visible Aqua Golf and Panther security cameras.

Panthers have emergency generators to power lights in event of power failure. There are multiple ways to leave Aqua Golf in case of an emergency.
