This project was developed as part of the Title III Technology Literacy Challenge Grant’s
Capital Region Collaboration for Technology Education.
2001-2002
Introduction
This PowerPoint project provides information about the geography and geology of the Hudson
River as well as the environmental issues facing the river.
Learners
This project would be useful to students in grades 6-8 social studies class.
Resources
A computer with Internet access, printer, and LCD projector for classroom projection would be required.
Standards
Mathematics, Science, and Technology
Standard 1: Analysis, Inquiry, and Design Students will use mathematical analysis, scientific inquiry, and engineering design, as appropriate, to pose questions, seek answers, and develop solutions.
Standard 2: Information Systems Students will access, generate, process, and transfer information using appropriate technologies.
Standard 7: Interdisciplinary Problem Solving Students will apply the knowledge and thinking skills of mathematics, science, and technology to address real-life problems and make informed decisions.
Process
Students will view a classroom presentation of this project and participate in classroom activites and discussions.
