Please put down the times you are available for each day. Presentation “Eagle Wear” Presentation will be evaluated on the overall attractiveness, poise, personality, and self-expressive introduction to the judges and audience. 60% of the attire must be FGCU attire. The attire is unique, trendy, and creative. Represent Yourself This portion of the competition will be evaluated on the overall first impression and sense of confidence and creativity. This category is where each contestant will have an opportunity to show off who they are in their own style, attire, and personality. Attire must be appropriate and tasteful. Talent Competition Contestants will perform a talent of their choice for 2-4 minutes. An acceptable talent is not limited to a dramatic reading/monologue, dance interpretation, singing and musical instruments. Contestants must submit a brief description of their talent, along with any props needed for this category. Please provide a listing of how props will be used. Evening Wear Competition Males are required to wear a tuxedo or a suit. The formal wear should represent personal taste of color and style. Question and Response Contestants will be asked impromptu questions and are expected to respond efficiently. Attire is Evening Wear. Mr. Gamma Tau Scholarship Pageant Qualifications and Guidelines Contestants must be enrolled at Florida Gulf Coast University and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Contestants that are freshman without a GPA must have a minimum 2.75 high school GPA. Proper documentation is required. All applications are due before or on September 9, 2014. Contestants should check in by 5:30 p.m. on date of the pageant. SELL A MINIMUM OF TEN (10) TICKETS. The contestant that sells the most tickets will have five (5) points added to their final score and will be named Mr. Congeniality. Any talent presentation is acceptable except those that may cause injury to the audience or any other person(s). No excessive glitter, fire, animal acts, or water may be used in any talent presentation. Rehearsals are MANDATORY and all contestants are required to attend. Emergencies are the only acceptable excuse. In the event of a tie, a TIE-BREAKER QUESTION will be asked. Each contestant is expected to conduct themselves in a mature, orderly and professional manner at all rehearsals and at the pageant. Mr. Gamma Tau Scholarship Pageant Judging System The Zeta Phi Beta Mr. Gamma Tau Pageant 2012 judging system is designed to promote diversity, individuality, and overall achievement among all contestants. Judges score the individual contestants immediately following each phase of the competition. Contestants are scored totally on a 1-100 point scale in whole numbers; within each category more than one contestant may receive the same score. There is one panel of judges for the entire competition. A panel that will include the pageant coordinators and the President of the Gamma Tau Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated will judge the Interview portion of the pageant. All judges have been educated about the Zeta Phi Beta Mr. Gamma Tau Scholarship Pageant 2012 judging system and represent a variety of sectors within their communities as well as the Florida Gulf Coast University community. The Interview Max: 20 Points Overall first impression Personal appearance Personality Ability to dialogue in conversation Presentation of “Eagle Wear” Max: 15 Points Creativity of personal introduction Overall appearance/demeanor of contestants (accessories, hair, make-up) Represent Yourself Max: 15 Points Overall first impression Sense of confidence and creativity Talent Competition Max: 20 Points Stage presence Originality of talent Totality of all elements (including costume, props, voice, use of body, Choreography) Overall performance Evening Wear Competition* Max: 15 Points Overall first impression Sense of attractiveness/Stage presence (poise, grace, style) Technique, including walk, posture, etc. Sense of confidence Question and Response* Max: 15 Points Sense of confidence Response in context with speech and grammar *Evening Wear and Question & Response will be in conjunction. Contestants will be judged in the appropriate categories for the pageant which includes the following categories: Interview, Presentation, Represent Yourself, Talent, Evening Gown, and Question & Answer. Only TWO (2) helper(s) will be allowed in the dressing areas, which should be designated in advance. Names must be presented in advance. Talent will be limited to 3-4 minutes. There is no allotted time for prop setup. All props must be hand held props or on-stage/off-stage props. Talent presentation will be timed at rehearsals; therefore everyone must run through their talent at the appointed time. Props must be available at that time or they will not be allowed during judged performance. Any type of talent presentation is acceptable. Except those which may cause injury to the audience and or any other. No excessive glitter, fire, or water may be used in any talent presentation.
