PEACE Class of 2012:
Congratulations on completing your freshman year at Millikan High School.
Tenth grade is often a challenging year for students, because classes become more
rigorous than ninth grade and expectations are increased. In preparation for this
challenging year, you are required to complete one assignment for your PEACE tenth
grade English class. The purpose of this assignment is to prepare you for the first unit of
the school year. Your summer assignment is to read Lord of the Flies by William Golding
and write a literary response essay.
Please understand that it is very important for you to do your best work and have this
assignment completed before the school year begins. Late or universal passes cannot be
used for this assignment. We want all tenth grade students to be successful, and we
would love to see everyone start the school year with an “A” in their English class.
We look forward to meeting you in September.
summer.
Sincerely,
Ms. McCluskey
