almost forty years. Both companies have established a professional and trusted relationship in

these additional supports and services, as required. Our CE marked bituminous products are
manufactured, in accordance with national and European product standards, in NSAI certified
manufacturing plants. Type test reports are supplied to Stanley Macadam for all supplied
materials.

For over 10 years, Stanley Macadam Company has worked alongside South Dublin County Council. During
this period we have found Stanley Macadam to be very efficient in dealing with the numerous contracts
from technical backup to advice on material design and selection.
As we place a high emphasis on product quality and service, we would have no hesitation in awarding
contracts to values in excess of €500,000 as they have always completed contracts within time and on
budget.
Stanley Macadam have had total responsibilities in programming activities from small civil works ie
installation of kerbs, footpaths, public lighting, foul and surface water networks, gullies, manholes etc, to
full road construction including realignments, to blacktop overlays. We have found their versatile plant and
highly skilled labour force to be very professional, which has resulted in very high levels of workmanship on
their projects.
I also found them to be very effective at night works; planing and overlaying busy junctions, traffic
management and pedestrian control.
Stanley Macadam Company has acted as PSCS on numerous projects and we have always found them to
aware and conscious of their obligations regarding Safety, Health and Welfare at work.
I would have no hesitation in appointing SMC to contracts encompassing all or any of the above operations

SDCC Road Maintenance Palmerston Depot has appointed Stanley Macadam Company for various
maintenance contracts over the past number of years. We have found them to be a reliable company
who always use quality material in their work. The value of the contracts they are awarded are
generally in the €50,000 - €150,000 range.
Stanley Macadam Company mainly carries out road resurfacing contracts for the Palmerston Depot.
In carrying out these contracts they have always proved to be a competent contractor when
appointed as PSCS. They are Health & Safety conscious and have always shown expertise in
adequately setting up and maintaining traffic management for the duration of the project. They have
also proved that they are a competent organisation with regards to all aspects of project management
e.g. staff management, use of appropriate plant and machinery, consultation with stakeholders and
delivery of project on schedule.
Over the years, Stanley Macadam Company has frequently recommended the use of alternative
bituminous materials compared to what was in the contract specification. This demonstrates they
have a deep technical understanding of the materials they use, as well as the conditions the materials
are to be exposed to while in use.
Because of their commitment to the use of quality materials and the professional manner in which
they carry out their business, I have no hesitation in recommending Stanley Macadam Company for
any future resurfacing contracts.
