Financial Matters 2012-2013 Recap Providing lessons in financial literacy through classroom presentations Financial Matters equips students with the tools necessary to develop sound money management skills. Through Financial Matters, industry professionals deliver presentations focused on financial literacy. From credit to scholarships, budgeting to buying a car, the program provides students with real-life lessons in money management. Several Financial Matters presentations are enhanced with PowerPoint presentations: Money Matters, Budgeting Matters, Credit Matters, Investing Matters, Tax Matters and Insurance Matters. Through Financial Matters: 97% of educators feel that their students’ financial literacy skills have been improved through their participation in Financial Matters. 95% of educators reported that Financial Matters exposed their students to tools necessary to become financially independent. 97% of educators state that Financial Matters assisted their students in developing sound money management skills. “It was apparent that our [Financial Matters volunteer] was committed to helping students with financial literacy. The feedback from my students was very positive. From credit to scholarships, budgeting to buying a car, the program provides students with real-life lessons in money management.
