The current RPI (.5923) for the Big 12 would rank as the best in its history
since the league began play in 1997 and the second-highest for any
conference since 2000.
Fifty-four of 86 games in conference play (62.8 percent) have been
decided by 11 points or less and nine of 10 squads in the Big 12 have had at
least one overtime game in league play.
Six teams are ranked in the latest top 25 polls. Despite the Big 12 having
the fewest teams, that’s the most of any conference. Nine of 10 squads in
the Big 12 have been ranked or received votes this season.
For the 11th time since 2001, the Big 12 Conference will host NCAA men’s basketball
competition. This year’s games are set for Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma
City.
Big 12 teams have a 28-15 (.651) record versus the ACC, Big East, Big Ten,
Pac-12 and SEC. It is the best combined winning percentage in the nation
for those conferences against each other and the top mark in Big 12 history.
Tickets to the preliminary-round games of the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball
Championship remain available for purchase. The contests in Oklahoma City will take
place on March 18 & 20 and the site is one of four nationally where both singlesession and all-session tickets are now available.
The Big 12 boasts the nation’s best non-conference winning percentage
(.820) and has just 23 non-league losses, the fewest of any conference.
Tickets can be purchased online at NCAA.com/mbbtickets
The NCAA encourages fans to use NCAA.com/mbbtickets for ticket purchases to
ensure they are receiving genuine NCAA championship tickets and not counterfeits.

The current Big 12 non-conference win percentage is the highest by any
league since 2003-04 and is also the 14th-best in NCAA history.
The Big 12 has had at least five teams in the top 25 for 35 consecutive
weeks. Nine of the 10 teams in the Big 12 have been ranked in the top 25 at
some point since January 1, 2014, including eight last season alone.

Big12Sports.com
The Big 12 Conference maintains its website at Big12Sports.com. Complete information
on the league and the member schools is available.
The site boasts original content from throughout the Conference including regular
video updates. In men’s basketball, condensed game highlights of numerous contests
will be available via the Big 12 Digital Network, within 72 hours of a game’s completion.
Many parts of the Big 12 Digital Network - including video - are also available via an
application on various mobile platforms (iPhone, iPad, Android). Comprehensive live
coverage of media day and the 2016 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship
in March is also available.
In men’s basketball, scores throughout the league, standings and box scores are updated
as games are final. Big 12 conference and team statistics are updated no later than
the following morning, with weekly award winners posted each Monday. An archive of
conference and team-by-team statistics for every season in league history is included
as well. Media can access Acrobat PDF files of the daily release, statistics, team-byteam statistics and the conference media guide on the website.
Big 12 on Social Media
The Big 12 also maintains a presence on Facebook (facebook.com/Big12), Twitter
and Instagram (@Big12Conference) and YouTube (youtube.com/Big12Conference).
The official hashtag for Big 12 Men’s Basketball and the 2016 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s
Basketball Championship is #Big12MBB.
Phillips 66 Weekly Awards
A Big 12 Player and Rookie of the Week are chosen each Monday from November 16 March 7. Nominations are submitted by the school communications offices and winners
are selected by a panel of media voters who cover college basketball on a regular basis.
This year marks the 20th year for Phillips 66 as a sponsor of the Big 12 Conference.
Postseason Awards
The Big 12 presents the only official all-conference awards at the end of the regular
season. Major award winners are chosen, along with the All-Big 12 teams. Each Big
12 head coach votes on the squads and is not permitted to vote for his own players.
The awards were announced on Sunday, March 6 prior to the Phillips 66 Big 12
Men’s Basketball Championship. Academic All-Big 12 teams are also chosen in men’s
basketball and were announced prior to the postseason.
