Training Program “Roadmap”
ARI is pleased to present this roadmap as a basis for
discussions with your organization for a comprehensive
Ravin Method TM program.
This roadmap has been designed by Judy Ravin, President
of ARI, to help your employees learn the pronunciation
techniques required for clear communication.
ARI understands that your global workforce may be too
diverse for a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Accordingly,
the training program “roadmap” can be customized
to reflect your organization’s unique global reach,
vocabulary, and diverse needs. Further, the program is
designed to provide each participating employee with
access to accent reduction training through alternative
training venues in order to provide maximum flexibility
in regards to format, scheduling, and cost. As these
training venues are based on a common curriculum,
they can be easily combined in a mix-and-match fashion
to accommodate the needs of your employees. The
curriculum provides the recommended training regime
of 25 hours of combined instructor-led training and
independent self-study.
ARI faculty are available to help design and create the
training formats that would best fit your organization’s
needs.

Ms. Ravin teaches the Diversity Program, which
includes:
• A two-hour seminar (unlimited attendance).
• Instructional material for each attendee (coursepack
with workbook and interactive CD).
The native English speaking audience is often ignored
in language programs, creating an unbalanced
approach and inadvertently contributing to your nonnative English speaking employees feeling ‘singled
out’. ARI believes that the responsibility for effective
communication resides with both speakers and listeners,
and the Diversity Program ensures both audiences
receive the support they need to ‘build the bridge’ to
successful communication. The Diversity Program is
available to your employees worldwide.

The Diversity Program represents the “other half”
of addressing language barriers, as it focuses on the
native English speaking audience. This seminar helps

for whom English is a second language. The Ravin
Method TM Diversity Program teaches professionals to:
• Understand why English pronunciation is difficult
for non-native English speakers
• ‘Tune Their Ear’ to foreign accents
• Recognize the most commonly mispronounced
sounds for foreign nationals
• Substitute incorrectly spoken words for correct
words
• Pronounce common, non-English names
• Use effective techniques to politely and successfully

Ravin MethodTM – Assessments
Each Assessment is an independent measurement of
an employee’s progress in reducing communication
barriers, valuable for performance reviews or as
part of the employee’s career development planning.
Assessments are also used to establish an Individualized
Curriculum. Assessments are available to your
employees worldwide.
www.lessaccent.com
(734) 665-2915
Services
Each Ravin Method TM Assessment includes:
• An initial 30-minute interview (teleconference) with
a senior ARI faculty member.
• A written assessment detailing the accent reduction
areas in need of modification. This initial
assessment identifies the speaker’s pronunciation
errors that are mispronounced to such an extent
that a significant language barrier results. This is
the specific metric used as the baseline to evaluate
pronunciation progress during the speaker’s course
of study.
• Optional follow-up assessments to measure progress
against the baseline established in the initial
assessment.
Corporate Offerings - Assessments
Upon request, ARI senior faculty members can provide
language proficiency (pronunciation) assessments.
19
Ravin MethodTM – Individualized Curriculum
Each Individualized Curriculum includes:
• An Assessment.
• A customized practice guide (PDF and MP3 files
via email) based on the individual’s specific
pronunciation needs. The practice guide teaches
the techniques necessary to speak with clarity and
precision. This tailor-made practice guide targets
the individual’s specific pronunciation problems
in the areas of: vowels, consonants, rhythm, stress,
intonation, rate of speech, and volume. The practice
guide provides written instruction of pronunciation
patterns and audio recordings of target words and
sounds for guided practice. Customized practice
guides are used for supporting long-term language
acquisition objectives during and after training.
The Individualized Curriculum is most useful for those
employees who prefer an accelerated course of selfstudy, or who are seeking additional guidance to help
them identify and focus on particular pronunciation
issues.
www.lessaccent.com
(734) 665-2915
Services
This customized curriculum is based on an Assessment
by a senior ARI faculty member, and includes both a
metric for determining the areas in which the speaker
lacks American accent proficiency and the instructional
feedback required to solve the problem. A customized
self-study curriculum is created to direct a student to
the relevant Ravin Method TM Product chapter, Online
Class section, or scheduled Web Seminar that covers the
student’s specific pronunciation issues.
Corporate Offerings - Individualized Curriculum
Upon request, ARI provides a customized selfstudy curriculum focused on an individual’s specific
