of the expenses are paid, sponsored by the American Legion.
The participants will join nearly 750 other outstanding young
men and women as they prepare to become leaders of

The Minority Access National Internship Program provides
students with the opportunity to merge academic theory with
practical application in the work place through full time and
part time internships. The program allows talented college
students to experience the full scope and diversity of career
opportunities available in the management, professional and
technical domains of participating entities. Applications are
accepted on-line from full time undergraduate and graduate
students. Students in good academic standing with their
institutions are encouraged to apply. However, priority is
given to students with a minimum 3.0 or better grade point
average. Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent

full scholarship to live on campus and participate in one of
two exciting Summer Session Insight courses: Collegiate

and Emerging Diseases. The scholarship covers tuition for the
course, room and board, residential and student life fees, and
the cost of travel to and from campus.

9th-12th graders as well as 2015 high school graduates. With
program content developed and taught by UM faculty and
students, MiBytes is a great way for students to learn about
computer science in a fun and engaging way! The application

Tinkering with Mobile Apps June 22nd - 26th, 2015
5-day commuter program for students who are curious about
exploring the basics of computer science and want to build
their own mobile apps.
Game Design & Development July 6th - 10th, 2015
5-day commuter program for students with any level of
technical skill who want to learn about the process of game
design and want to start making their own games.
Hacking in a Digital World July 13th - 24th, 2015
10-day commuter program that will inspire students who are
enthusiastic about computer science and who are eager to
learn more about it in greater detail. Four areas in computer
science will be explored: robotics, microcontrollers, mobile
app development, and cybersecurity.
2015 Heels for Success program
Heels for Success is a one-day summer program to help
academically-talented, rising sophomores and juniors prepare
for college. Over the course of the day, students
will learn techniques for approaching the ACT, explore the
Carolina campus and its wide-ranging academic opportunities,
as well as learn how to manage the college
application process. They’ll also get the chance to connect
with other outstanding students from across the country.
