~Obituary ~
Nonnie B. Conrad Harris,
daughter of the late Mr. &
Mrs. King Knowledge (Willie Lucy Hopkins) Conrad, was the fifth of nine
children. She was born on April 19, 1930 in Marshall County Mississippi.
She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Chulahoma M.
B. Church. After relocating to Memphis, TN, she joined St. John M. B.
Church and remained a faithful member, serving on the Mother Board and
a member of the Missionary Society. She also served her community as
Block Club President for many years.
In 1943, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Lowell McKinney.
To their union two daughters were born, one daughter Bobbitt Carson,
preceded her in death. In 1949, she married the late Willie Lee Harris. Her
special friend, James Jordan also preceded her in death.
She was employed by The Acuff Family for over fifty years.
On Thursday, April 23, 2015 in Houston, TX, Nonnie B. Harris answered
the call of The Heavenly Father and made her transition to her mansion
in the sky.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter Verma Jean Brown of
Memphis, TN; two sisters, Euretha (Leslie Sr.) King of Holly Springs, MS
and Vearistine Reynolds of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Oligh William
and Elder Mack Seal Conrad both of Memphis, TN; one sister-in-law,
Irene Washington of Miami, FL; longtime friend, Lillie Rose Brown. She
also leaves four grandchildren, three adopted grandchildren, twelve great
grandchildren, sixteen great-great grandchildren, a very special niece and
caregiver, Asha Hollman, two doting nephews, Leslie King, Jr. and Darryl
Crawford, Sr., a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a
building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the Heavens.
