On April 4th, Food Shift recovered over 470 pounds of granola, lemonade and
stuffing from Andronico's Community Market in Berkeley. The retail value of
the food totaled $2,438 and was donated to
St. Vincent de Paul. We are
excited to expand our food recovery program
with Andronico's in the coming

Blue Sky Contest. Winners of the Facebook-based competition receive free
advertising on BART trains and stations. Please vote and share with your networks. Last spring we won and created 4 ads which you can see here.
March was a big month for Food Shift with grant applications, interviews, speaking
engagements and responding
to an increasing demand for our food recovery
services. While keeping pace with it all was exhausting, we're making significant
progress and we're thrilled by the increase in attention on this issue and on our
work.
The speaking engagements brought us to the David Brower Center in Berkeley, and
to the Pachamama Alliance Monthly Gathering and Commonwealth Club in San
Francisco allowing us to reach nearly 500 people with our message. Spreading our message even further is the exposure we received from Good
Magazine as we were selected as one of their 100 Global Innovators list for
