Galley Technologies is an established engineering consulting firm specializing in equipment safety, robotics, and automation. Clients for its production automation safety practice include the Swiss subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, as well as Rolex. On December 29, 2009, new CE Directive 2006/42/EC becomes effective, replacing the current Directive 98/37/EC. While machinery designed to conform to the new standard will normally fulfill the requirements of the old standard, machinery sold in Europe before the above date must still be accompanied by documentation according to the old standard. Manufacturers should thus now be designing new equipment to conform to the new directive, as well as reviewing the design of existing equipment to ensure continued conformity. In any case, new conformity certifications are required under the new directive. A key difference in documentation is that, under the new directive, the entity (manufacturer or its representative) issuing the conformity declaration - and thus accepting liability for certifying conformity - must now be located within the European Community. Switzerland, while not an EC member state, is a member of the Community for purposes of the CE directives. Galley Technologies can review designs, recommend or make modifications, update documentation, and certify conformity under the old and/or new directives. Services are custom-tailored to customer requirements. Certifications to the new directive, based on simple updates from the previous one, can be provided for one low, fixed price. RepExact will be providing information on Galley Technologies at MD&M West, Booth 2285. RepExact, LLC, besides representing Galley Technologies, sources custom precision and micro-components manufactured by its principals, as well as many more produced by a variety of additional partners in Europe and North America. Markets served are North American medical technology and aerospace/defense. ### For further information, or to schedule an interview with Larry Kaufmann, please call 980-329-1688 or email info@repexact.com.
