Submit academic transcripts from all previous colleges or universities attended. Initially,
unofficial copies are acceptable. Applicants will be informed if official copies are required.
For students who are matriculating at another engineering college from which they have
approval for transfer credit from Rutgers School of Engineering courses, a letter from the
appropriate academic dean or advisor from the home institution must be submitted to
confirm the transfer credit agreement.

SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING PROGRAM FOR NON-MATRICULATING
STUDENTS*
Purpose:
1.
The goal of this program is:
To affirm the School of Engineering commitment to providing educational
services to the people of New Jersey by:
a. extending the School of Engineering faculty expertise, facilities and
programs of study within our existing structure;
b. facilitating access to existing courses (on a space availability basis) for
individuals who wish to enroll in school for less than the standard fouryear program.
Potential applicants: Indicate your category below:

Recent graduates who desire to complete additional undergraduate course
work in preparation for graduate studies or other professional areas;
Persons employed in jobs or professionals who require additional training for
professional improvement or advancement;
Students matriculating in engineering programs at other colleges or
universities who have approval from their home institution to transfer credit
from courses completed at the Rutgers University School of Engineering.

PLEASE NOTE:
F-1 and J-1 visa holders are NOT eligible for non-matriculating
student status and therefore will NOT be admitted to this program.
Description:
Students who are admitted can enroll on a full** or part time*** basis in existing School of
Engineering undergraduate courses (on a space availability basis) and receive college
credits as a non-matriculating student. Students may take up to 18 credits in this
program. This 18 credit limit will be strictly adhered to. Successful completion of course
work by the non-matriculating student does not guarantee admission as a matriculated
student.
Students who enroll in this program, either full or part time, will be required to pay
tuition and student fees.

Application Procedures:
1. Obtain an application from the:

2. Complete the application and return to the above address, along with supporting
documents. Applications must be returned and completed by August 15 for the fall
semester and January 10 for the spring semester. Alternatively, forms and
supporting documents may be scanned in and emailed to cecilia.vargas@rutgers.edu
3. Once the application is complete and has been reviewed, applicants will be notified as
soon as possible. Notification will include:
a. Acceptance or rejection (acceptance into the program does not guarantee
space availability in individual courses);
b. Course enrollment procedures.
4. The program administrator and adviser for the SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING PROGRAM
FOR NON-MATRICULATING STUDENTS is Dean Cecilia Vargas. Direct any questions to

Tuition and Fees:
1. Tuition, student fees and other financial obligations are the same as those for fulland part-time matriculated Rutgers University students.
Please note:
As a Non-matriculating student, you are not eligible for Financial Aid.
